Subject: Race Director 101 I'm looking to put on a sprint tri and aquabike in a community in West Michigan that hasn't held events like these in the past. I've never put on a race however I've been brainstorming with an event planner friend that has put on numerous 5k's of various participation sizes so I've got a good start on things I need to address. I'm wondering if any of you Race Directors would be willing to share your experiences with me, good and bad so I can put on a solid event and hopefully grow it over the years? Call it mentoring, advising, co-brain storming, I'm just looking to get answers to speculative questions as I'm targeting late August 2017 as my race date. We can communicate via personal messages, email, Skype whatever works for you. I have a detailed list of what I'm working on, however I need answers on many questions and I don't have the luxury of time... Thanks in advance! |
