Good morning!  I was just saying to my husband 'remember that girl who used to get up at 7am for her long runs?  Where did she go?!' Lol I guess I get up early enough during the week that I can sleep in a little on the weekends!

Breakfast then heading out for a 3 hour run.  I'm going to explore a place I hiked at yesterday. This is pretty cool...I've always heard there was a big concrete arrow somewhere over where I've been hiking and running that was used for the air mail carriers back in the day.  Well a few weeks ago I was hiking in area near where I usually run.  Got up to about 7,000 feet and looked across several miles to where I usually go and could make out something orange.  Yesterday I decided to figure out what it was and started my hike where I thought I saw the orange--not visible from 5000 ft where I started. Long story short (too late) I found it yesterday!  It is indeed a huge concrete arrow!  Here's a link to the history if you're interested: https://sometimes-interesting.com/2013/12/04/concrete-arrows-and-the-u-s-airmail-beacon-system/

In the photo I took you you can see one of the original braces for the tower that once stood there.  Pretty cool!  Wonder what I'll find today!

Way cool!

1:45 - 2hr bike ride. Went on a route I haven’t done before - was treated to some (well, 2) nasty hills. One was tough enough that I ended up walking up about half of it. The other (at about 1.4 hrs), I crushed. I’ll take whatever little victories I can get.

Have a great week, BT!

Very cool! Can't report anything that exciting here. There is so much construction lately that even some of my old run routes are blocked. The bridge to one side of a neighborhood has been stripped down to the frame and there's no way to cross except by crawling, and (I checked--it's only about ten feet down to a creek and nothing I wouldn't do while hiking) there's a guard to keep you from trying that. Also a huge construction project and lots of harassment (they were even chasing me) where there used to be a nice grove of trees for about 1/4 mile along a quiet stretch of road. Ugh.

2:45 trainer ride here, mostly just below/above HIM effort.
