First a swim at the local Y 1700M

Followed immediately with a 10 mile run in the warm breezes of southern PA. Wasn't the best of times, Wasn't the worst of times.

Embrace the Suck everyone!

Cheers,

Steve

Would KILL to do a 10-mile run, anywhere, especially in nice weather! Instead....reality.

50 minute stationary ride with some single-leg work at the gym this morning, and a total of three hours of walking--to/from gym and coffee, and 2 hours along the river before dinner. Plus the usual two hours of PT exercises (really--5 sets at intervals throughout the day, mostly stretches though, and I can multi-task while doing them). It really was pretty much all day! We did have beautiful weather--sunny and warm but not too hot. Though if the snowmelt speeds up at all, some of the Greenbelt (riverside MUP) will soon be under water--less than 3-6 inches clearance in some places.

I spent almost all last year building my running back from almost zero (after four months off due to a misdiagnosed injury) to 3 hour long runs to get ready for my first (and quite possibly only) full IM in November. Now, after at least 2 1/2 months off due to broken elbow in February (it's possible I'll be given clearance to run next week, but not certain), trying to wrap my head around starting all over yet again. OMG. If it were not my first and favorite of the three sports, I wouldn't bother.

I ordered a sleeveless wetsuit yesterday, in the event that OWS becomes a possibility sometime this summer. (Just thinking about getting my very snug full suit on/off my arm--nuh-uh.) Plus stuck my hand in Quinn's Pond, our most popular local venue. OMG, not yet, elbow notwithstanding! COLD, even right at the shoreline. (Supposedly 55 mid-lake.) The local tri club will start there next week regardless. I told the coach I will consider it at 65 degrees if I can make it to the first buoy and back (about 200m)!

3:00 PM - 40 minute outdoor bike ride followed by a 2 mile run brick.  I wanted more like a 2 hour ride but since I don't have any long races coming other Saturday chores and activities have come first.  This was the 2nd outdoor ride of the year and 2nd brick run.  On the first brick run my pace was about 30 sec/mile over my target race pace.  Today was only about 6 sec/mile over target race pace.  I am try to dial in the brick runs into race pace.  They are getting there.

80 minute trainer ride at easy effort followed by a 1.5 mile brick run. Got it in early before leaving for the beach. Taper time before the 70.3 on May 4.
