Subject: RE: Spur on Saturday 7-27-191:42 worth of long run this morning along the Greenbelt. Got it in before it got hotter than h....and had a nice brunch at a riverside cafe afterwards. 2200 yards of swimming PM. Not going anywhere very fast but good as PT and recovery from run.
I think I'm too much of an Oregonian for this place. I avoid even going out after noon this time of year--not so much the heat as the sun on most days is just blinding, gives me a headache, and it feels like I will dry up into a raisin. I think a combo of altitude, fewer trees, and super-dry air. Summer long runs are usually along the river as it's cooler and a bit more moisture in the air. |
