Subject: Trekking Poles Allowed in a Triathlon? Reason I am asking is that I am a 75 year old that has a hip replacement surgery and a procedures on my knees and back to reduce pain from bulging discs. I have worked my way back to riding by bike 120 + miles per week and swimming 3 times per week doing around 1500 - 2000 yards per session. I am walking with the aid of trekking poles 30 - 35 miles per week .
I had a goal of getting back to doing triathlons after all these medical issues including recovering from bladder and prostate cancer.
I finished my last half - Ironman in 2009 before I started having all these issues.
Trekking poles help keep the pressure off my hip ,back and knees. |
