Donto (and everyone)-

Any thoughts on continuing this challenge into March?  It really motivated me to stay on track training wise and would love to continue.  It's all about consistency and this format of weekly goals really works for me.

Let me know...

 Jim

I was thinking about a Tri-sport challenge.  I have my Long Course event in mid April and really need to focus on all three aspects of training next month before the taper starts April 1st.

Anyone else game for a tri-sport Swim, Bike, Run challenge?

I'm game!  I've been ignoring the swim lately and need to be held accountable in all three areas.  I'm not sick anymore and plan to stay that way!!

I'm in.  The challenge was the only thing that motivated me to get out in the cold and snow.  Bring it on!

I'll work on my goals today...

Hey do you have room for newbies? I am just starting out this year for my first tri (sprint) and would hate to slow down a team in the challenge but would love the extra motivation. Here are my last months totals (not completely updated but the general idea) Just joined a Masters swim group to get serious about improving in the water. I want to at least double my distances for every thing from last month!

February's totals:
Bike: 6h 21m 28s - 100.22 Mi
Run: 8h 51m 15s - 64.13 Mi
Swim: 6h 22m 32s - 2697.23 Yd

Absolutely!

The idea is to look at a training plan/schedule you may have and commit to a goal for the month.  Typically we do the goals in distance (miles, KM, yards, meters) or time (minutes or hours).  Also you will want to factor in any foreseen things that can affect you such as; cold/ family illness, business travel, etc.  I usually do anywhere up to a 20% derating of my plan.

Post your goals here on this thread when you get them figured out.

Yes With this many early responses I am sure we will make up a few teams .
You Must show your training in the logs publicly. Month is divided up into 4-5 weeks. Monday through Sunday is the 'week' . Time (min/hr) and or Distance (miles/km) for goals . You can mix them , e.g. Run = time and Bike = miles or vise versa. Yardage and time Goals will be broken up on a spreadsheet.

I will post my goals shortly; I think they will be a little lower than the past two months, got school and work thrown in the mix next month as well.

Okay, think I have everything set
Swim - 8000 yrds (unless I drown first!)
Bike - 200 miles
Run - 50 miles

I hope to surpass this but work has a way of getting in the way. Maybe I'll quit and go PRO!!

Look forward to getting started and being a part of the #1 TEAM!!!!!!!!!!

Here are my goals.  They might be a little conservative because I don't know what my coach has in store the last two weeks of March so I had to guess.

Swim: 210 minutes
Bike: 900 minutes
Run: 600 minutes
