i finally swam with 'cologne man'!!!

Ha! We have a guy like that in the class after masters. I usually swim over the allotted time and as soon I see him sashay onto the pool deck, I'm out of the pool! It's so gross.

I can't even smell chlorine when he's around. He drowns out all odors.

I have noticed the same thing.  More frequently with men than women though, but that is just my observation.  I have smelled a lot of perfume too.

It seems to be occuring more frequently at the pool at swim at in the mornings.  Is it the weather, or what?

Ugh, that's nasty. The fact that you can taste somebody's perfume/cologne is pretty sickening. Moreover, why can't people follow the rules posted at every pool and take a shower before they swim? Its not that hard. Really.  

If it helps at all, I ran with perfume lady last night. The track at my gym is pretty small (11 laps to the mile) so you're never that far away from others. She left a stinky wake the entire time I was running. I realize its a nice fragrance but please, lady, don't let me smell you coming and going.

I have to admit I left a smell at the pool last week. 

I went to the barber shop right before I went to swim.  After I got in the pool I could smell the talcum powder and that "fresh haircut smell". 

In my defense it was talcum powder not cologne and it was inadvertant.

So does that mean that we'll taste the garlic after a big a$$ Italian feast?  

Sorry.  I know... the last stuff I bought was icky to me too.  But I'm back to the no smell blue stuff I get from Costco.

I have cologne guy on the bus with me in the morning.  It sucks, truly.  But in a way, it helps me have a seat all to myself, since I'm sniffling so bad no one wants to sit next to me because they think I have a horrible cold.

At the pool, I rarely smell anything since I have to wear the nose plug thing to keep the chlorine out of my nose.   

I have gotten to the point where if I see somebody coming near the pool in our gym and they ar enot in teh least bit wet, I tell them to shower. There are big placards in our gym referring to this. I am tired of women and men both getting in teh pool and me being able to smell it whilst in the water. For f*&ks sake.

I do fart in the water every once in a while, though.

this thread is a curse! i was late to swimming today and swam over the time into the next group. who got in the lane next to me???

and i HAD to stay and finish my workout. yuck
