Total Time = 46m 30s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 0/
Pre-race routine:

Tried to work-off overly rich food from night out without the kids from night before.
Event warmup:

Not much. Hung out and looked for other B.T.ers
Run
  • 46m 30s
  • 4.96 miles
  • 09m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a really fun run. 25 minute without anything to drink gets a little long for me, but thats my problem because of being a slower run. Wind was a little rough at times, but hey, it's the middle of March.
What would you do differently?:

Not eat so horribly the day before.
Post race
Warm down:

Tried to walk around and cheer on others for awhile, but got very cold once I stopped running.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Carrying 50 pounds of exttra weight.

Event comments:

Like I said above, I had a lot of fun at this race. Was able to talk to 4 other B.Ters. Set a P.R. for the race, of course almost every race is a P.R. when you've done so little. Best thing about this is it has given me a lot of confidance for the running portions of the tri's I have planned for the year. Last year I was always worries about the run portion. Incorporating more running in the pre-season can, and will, only help.

Nice job! Congrats on the PR! I'm like that too--my race was a PR as well because I've only done two 8k's! But hey, we have to start somewhere, right? Nice to meet you and Kelly.

Great PR! So, did your wife leave you in the dust or what? Thanks for letting me chase you the whole way, I appreciated keeping an eye on your red jacket.

Very nice to meet both of you also.  Kelly finished about 2.5 minutes ahead of me.  We get along great, but really don't like to run together.  She was pretty bummed that she didn't see me finish.  She must have just been walking back to watch as I was going through.  The funny thing was Chriss Coleman, the mayor of St. Paul was right behind me since the turn at the halfway point (I think he was drafting in my rather large wake) He blew buy me on the final 25 yards or so and Kelly did see hi.  I don't know how she could have missed the big red baloon which was me.

Lets hear it for P.R's!!
