Anyone doing RaceFest?

I'm also feeling like a big sucker, but thinking about it. I've never done one either. I've been debating about a 1/2 IM this fall and want to get a half-mary under my belt first.

I'm debating too and I also have never done a half mary. Convince me to run or talk me out of it...I'm easy...lol.

If I can get in some miles I may do it......always comes back to the ankle injury which is always lurking out there on a mileage ramp-up....i.e. half mary w/out a whole lot of base miles.

It's easy to suffer in pain in a group than alone--that's what I always say. I've found I do much better by being social and running with someone else. I ran my freakin mouth most of the way thru both 5k's at my duathlon yesterday.

Ok, I'm leaning toward doing it now..... ...... but up front I want to tell you that I MAY do the run/walk thingy...like 9 mins run/1:30-1:45 min walk.....kinda wimpy for some people ...but it REALLY helps put off the ankle hurting....... not to mention the whole recovery thing.

*whew* I've done my half mary already this year. heh heh heh I would love to have done 2:15!! I did mine in 2:43 and I do 5 min run/ 1 min walk. Galloway does a body good. Ya'll have fun out there.

I may end up doing the 10k. My coach wants me to do it to raise some confidence for Cane Creek. Not ready to do a half mary yet, or just don't like to run that much. Maybe next year.

Eric, post the duathlon results!

I'll be around 10min/mile pace most likely with some walk mixed in. I won't be setting any records!

If everything goes right..I'll be running the half and consider it a long tempo training run for White Lake HIM.
Hopefully the weather will be less humid.

I'm back on the fence about the half...ran a fairly hard 5k Sat and ankle still sore...... should probably do the 10k ... or nothing....... won't know for sure until day before/day of probably.

I think that I will take the plunge and do the 10k.

As long as everything goes well with Karen and the baby tomorrow, I'm in. I'm running out of excuses not to do the race.

Just got back from a 10 mile jog.... back in the Half for now........ subject to change ! ...LOL.

I should have said light run, instead of jog,,, but it did feel effortless.

Happened to be at South Park his evening and I just happened o have the half mary map so the girls and I drove the race course. Several hills, to say the least. My daughter, Lyn, says how far is this race ? I told her and she laughed and said why don't you just drive it.

May be a moot point anyway if ankle bothers me..... it's shaping up to be kind of a gamble....... I can see the race rpt now....felt good @ 6 miles.....................then walked last 5 miles in. I know no one else is stubborn like this, right ?
