Subject: RE: Timex Ironman WatchesI won one of those timex ironman watches in my first triathlon (before you get all impressed, it was the raffle ). It's been a really good watch, and you can't beat the price, but the strap kept breaking, scratching, etc., had to be replaced a couple of times before I found one I could live with. Having said that, HR monitors are super cool - if you're cheap like me, ask for one for your birthday or Christmas. Also, v. important: if you want to use it in the pool, you have to make sure you get it resealed when they change the battery. Not all shops can do this, and I was just lucky someone mentioned it to me before I ruined my watch. In the end someone very nice gave me one of the fancy Polar models that keeps time, laps, HR, tracks your training zone, etc. I love it! If it could be programmed to play mp3s I would be stylin. |
