2007 Cranberry Smackdown!

Well, my goal is to beat my last year's time.  For those extra 10 min, I may or may not make it, but I'll try. 

Well, there is a REASON some of us changed our screen names....

I have no smack, since this is my first attempt at a complete Oly.  But I have to ask Glen, 4:44 for T1?  Did you go get coffee or something?

Now watch, I'll have trouble finding my rack and I'll probably end up with a 10:00 T1!

I (and D.Z. and amiine) witnessed Glen's T2 at Patriot.  He took time strolling all over the TA, adjusting his shorts/race belt (see picture), went to bathroom, came back into TA, and talked to spectators before he took off. 

Sweet, thanks for putting that together May!  But seriously... if I get any more excited for this race, I might have a stroke.  So please be careful.

I'm so glad I found BT when I started training.  I'm not sure I'd be at this point without the support everyone's offered through this season.  I'm looking forward to being on that chart next year, alongside all of you wonderful folks.

Chris, the last two years, we were getting everyone to blow their load before the race even started, it was insane.

Now here I am, not even racing, and I'm feeling so devilish trying to stir $h!t up!

Hmmmmmmmm..............KathyG should get first BT woman on the bike. That should make her real happy, because she's so hardcore about her riding. Now lets see what she can really do for the swim and run - it's the total time for ALL 3 that matter

How insane is this? Like Jorge's (amiine) first or second season racing - 2005.

He did Timberman the weekend before Cranberry 2005 and then he turns in a race like this:

FINISHING TIME: 2:10.45
swim 23:04 (1:38/100 y) - he JUST learned how to swim
bike 1:05.56 a blistering 22.66 mph
run :38.30 at 6:13 min/mi

Jorge's Race Report

All I can say is I'm gonna be there with Nick, my right hand man, and we are gonna get it all on digital images just for posterity.  So everyone smile as BT's roving photographer catches you in the act. 

Having thought about it more, I'll probably have no trouble finding my bike in the transition area because I'm in the last swim wave!  Kinda like that picture from Kona last year, when Normann's bike was all alone?  Except that his was all alone in T2 because he was the first one off the bike!

Perhaps because some of the faster folks in MA (like amiine) don't race Cranberry?  Sort of like if the NY Yankees played the Pawtucket Red Sox?  Just a theory! 

But what do I know, I'm still a newbie hanging out in fast company!

I'm getting amiine to race. I'm gonna pay for everyone to get coaching. I'm gonna play mind games with your Iron girls who will just have finished up that LITTLE RACE in upstate NY a month in advance.

I know what kind of pump your bike doesn't like. Uh huh. I sure do.  You'll come into T1 and it'll be Lake Placid at 5 am all over again!
