Welcome to the Running Challenge

What else could TAN be but Werewolves…. Why? Well once bitten by a werewolf you are forever assigned to their fate of turning every full moon. The rest of the time they appear perfectly normal and live ordinary lives with the rest of the human race…. A TAN analogy?

Your team line up is:

  1. Artemis
  2. FishCutB8
  3. LowCountryTRI
  4. Lvthgame
  5. Mike 45
  6. Mr2tony
  7. Rynamite
  8. Scout7
  9. Spokes
  10. The Schwamm
  11. WaterDog66

Please introduce yourself to your team below with your goals for the challenge and running in general, what they are training for as well as names and any other general info – Im assuming you probably all know each other pretty well by now though!

You will also need to nominate/select/volunteer a Team Leader (did I see Scout nominated???) whose role will be to collect the commitments for each runner and collect your team results every Monday.

Your running time must be logged in your BT Log for verification purposes, but you are responsible for reporting your weekly results to your Team Leader on Mondays, this is done by posting an update in your team thread in the challenges forum unless the team prefers another method.

Attached to this post is an excel excel spreadsheet to be used by the Team Leader for your team tracking and should be sent to me on Tuesdays AM so I can get an challenge update post in the forum by Wednesday each week. The spreadsheet includes the details of any team members who have already made a challenge commitment.

I will be maintaining a Team Leaders thread for any queries, questions etc so if there are any problems please let me know.

This is a team competition so please support your team mates with inspires, motivation and encouragement as well as pledge your allegiance in your sig line, log and even avatar!

Good natured sledging and competition with the other teams is part of the fun so feel free to stir up a bit of friendly rivalry.

Most importantly this is all about fun and you reaching your goals!!!!

So…time to get running! Let the challenge begin!!

We have to introduce ourselves? Heh. i think y'all know plenty about me already.

Uh, anyway. i guess i'm running a half marathon in November. i should probably be training for that... 50 miles is sort of my goal; it should be higher, but i have some travel this month, so...

Hi!  My name is Diego and I'm a Gemini.  I like long walks on the be....  Oh wait.... ya'll know all this already!

Good to see everyone outside of TAN!!

Anyway,  I am pledging 115 miles this month.  I've got a half Mary Oct 28 and my full January 13 (Disney World).  Plus I have a 10K this coming weekend (only my second one ever) and a 5K on Oct 20.

What the?  How did I end up here?

And I seem to be quite good at being volun-told about new positions.

*sigh*...  If it be the will of the people, I suppose I gotta try to actually track some of this stuff.

So, anyhoo, I'm Scout, and I pledged 200 miles for this month.  Hopefully, I can pull that out.  There's a few races this month, so that may or may not hurt, we'll see how things shake out.

Maybe I'm being premature, but assuming I am the "leader" of this motley band, send me your miles for each day/week/whatever be either an inspire or PM.  Posting here means I'm more likely to miss it.  Not that you shouldn't post it here, I encourage it.  Gives me more ammunition with which to mock you.

Hi everyone!  Do I really have to introduce myself?  Seems strange.

Anyway, I think I pledged 35 miles for the month.  Yes, it pales in comparison to Scout's 200, but at least I can run again.  I've got an 8k the first week of November that I'd like to be able to run without walking.

I am here also. (Waterdog)

Running seems to be my addiction of choice lately since the doc says I can't swim or ride the bike. (But I can do the trainer) So, running it is.

My goal is 200 miles for the month. The plan has me tapering for a race in the first 2 weeks, and recovering the next two:

Week 1: 43 Miles
Week 2: 57 Miles (26.2 Miles of this is my race)
Week 3: 30 Miles (Recovery)
Week 4: 50 Miles
Week 5: 20 Miles (Partial Week)

Goal race is the Long Beach Marathon on October 14th. Gonna try and run a Boston Qualifying time. (3:20:59 or less) need to take ~16 minutes off of my PR.

Who else?

In case anyone missed it, just PM or inspire me with your mileage.  If you want me to track daily, I can do so.

Nothing wrong with 2 miles.

There are no wimps in TAN
