Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Look at that picture closely. I can see... *wrinkles in the black backdrop. * an extension cord running to the lunar vehicle....or maybe to the giant light. * is that wind blowing the flag, an atmosphere on the moon? Ya gotta wonder... |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() *wrinkles in the black backdrop. Huh? I don't see that. * an extension cord running to the lunar vehicle....or maybe to the giant light. Or maybe from the lunar lander to THE CAMERA that took the picture? * is that wind blowing the flag, an atmosphere on the moon? There's a rod holding the top edge of the flag so that it doesn't just lay flat against the pole. The other is a result of having planted the flag -- the lack of an atmosphere doesn't negate inertia. The flag will still move. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Why would there be wind INSIDE the studio this was alleged to have taken place in? I would only buy air conditioning as an answer if the flag were placed directly in front of a vent. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I am not a big fan of Conspiracy Theories in general. (Most all of them just don't pass the smell test) The October Suprise Conspiracy Theory is interesting in that it has received a lot of attention by credible sources including the US Congress. (Who ultimately decided there was not enough evidence to support the Theory) For those who are not familiar, the theory is that: During the 1980 Presidential Campaign, George Bush used his contacts within the CIA to make a secret deal with Iran to delay the release of the 52 Hostages until after the election thus further disgracing then president Jimmy Carter who was running for re-election. Like all conspiracies, it is has elements of fact followed by an essentially unprovable conclusion. (At least based on current public knowledge) Bush was the former CIA Director, and the hostages were released 20 minutes after Reagan's inaugural address. Several key players from both the US and Iran have spoken out over the years in an attempt to support the theory, but nothing that elevates the theory to fact. (Yet) Was this a coincidence?, Is there an alternate explanation? I suspect that it will take some time for history to properly judge the facts without the emotion that those of us who experienced it first hand bring to the discussion. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I don't know if this is a "conspiracy theory" but I remember hearing that the only reason Marijuana is illegal in the U.S. is b/c W. Randolph Hearst had his buddies in the legislature outlaw Hemp, which was a viable renewable source for paper and he had recently invested in LARGE sums of forrestry for the sole purpose using the land for his media (newspaper and magazine) empire. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() One thing that strikes me is the absolute pure white light source. Although this is consistent with the series, It is a remarkably perfect photograph. Being prepared to shoot under those conditions ahead of time and hitting the perfect shot..... The picture could certainly been staged or touched up. But the never being there conspiracy is bologney. Edited by mdg2003 2007-10-12 11:43 AM |

(You might have to fill in the blanks for this one) At least from what I remember from the election, two things sunk Bush's campaign. His reverse on the "No New Taxes" campain promise and Ross Perot who acted as a spoiler drawing away conservative (Fiscally Conservative Votes) Clinton won with only 43% of the Popular Vote. (He only carried a Majority in his home state) Not certain how Iran Contra plays into the calculus but then, I am not familiar with the conspiracy |

There are workaholics who probably dread the weekend, along with bartenders, suburban parents who have to drag their kids to multiple sports and events, etc, etc. Rumor has it this song was made by the government of Japan in the 80's to undermine the lazy American work ethic they continually blasted. Master ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() My least favorite recent consipiracy theory: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20999747/ MAPUTO, Mozambique - The head of the Catholic church in Mozambique said on Wednesday he believed some European-made condoms were deliberately tainted with the HIV/AIDS virus to kill African people.

"sources say" said while laughing.. while he was the govenor of ark.. was during the time frame for the whole central american guns for ________ during the reagan administration.. the airport that was used to transport guns drugs and money down to central america was in ark.. which is a pretty much proven fact... . locals there have claimed to on occasion find a body or two in that general area but then it was always "taken care of" --that's a maybe Supposedly Clinton somehow knew what was going on at that time. [no clue how] and for his silence he would somehow get rewarded with being his party's choice for pres to run against whoever?? they would make sure a scandle would take out his rival [very big stretch],,, it happened since no one that he could actually win... [that is believable, not many predicted that he would get the party's nod and go on to win] I agree with the Perot stealing votes.... Around these parts Dallas/Ft Worth & texas. it was said the only reason Perot actually run was due to a pi$$ing contest with the bush's and he knew that he could steal enough votes to damage him. or at least make him sweat a bit Edited by Gaarryy 2007-10-12 1:35 PM |

Answer: "Tehran the day after Reagan is sworn in." |
