Subject: Any Pink Floyd fans out there?

I am a "recent convert" to Pink Floyd.  Unfortunately, they are no longer touring.  Last Friday, I got to see the next best thing-Australian Pink Floyd. www.aussiefloyd.com  They played Dark Side of the Moon note for note for the first hour and then played all sorts of Floyd for a second hour.  It was great!  The fans ranged in age from about 6 to 70+.

So, if you have $30 you aren't going to spend on tri gear, have some time and if Australian Pink Floyd comes to town, don't miss them!

If you can find it, look for their early release called "Ummagumma" (I think that's how it's spelled).  I had it on vinyl years ago, not sure if it's available on CD.  I used to drive my mom crazy, playing "Careful With That Axe Eugene" at full volume when she came to visit.  I have since mellowed considerably.

OK, here's a link...it was released in 1969

Didn't know that they're no longer touring. Their live shows were great - saw them in '94 at Earls Court in London.
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing even before they hit the satge and the show was loud - I mean my fillings
were still rattling a week later!

I LOVE Pink Floyd...my generation, and I introduced them to my 17 year old and he loves them too.

I loooooove Floyd. Also saw them in 94, Division Bell tour, Rose Bowl. ALways regretted not seeing The Wall when that was here. Would love to see a show with Roger Waters

My brush with fame story. I saw the movie The Wall in Westwood in, what, 83? with classmate Dave Navarro, guitarist for Jane's Addiction/CHili Peppers........

When I was growing up in Orlando there was a Planetarium downtown that used to have the Pink Floyd Laser Light Shows, which were absolutely awesome.

I also saw Floyd tour in (I think) '89.  Outdoor stadium in the pouring rain, and it was still awesome.  My favorite is Animals.

Best show I ever saw was a Pink Floyd show. It was back in the late 80's. I never saw anything like it before then or since that is even comparable.

Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now,
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I'll need some information first.
Just the basic facts.
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

O.K.
Just a little pinprick.
There'll be no more aaaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good.
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.

There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

"I'm going to cut you into little pieces!"

Nick Mason's only lyric in any Floyd song (that I know of).

Love Floyd...I've got 20 Floyd albums going back to Piper at the Gates of Dawn in 1967.
