I had to add Redman, even though I have no basis for comparison.  I had a blast at this race!  Its awesome!

The South Carolina Half was very well run, the course had some great scenery, and the post-race activities/food were great!

Lance Watson came to our humble little mecca to put on a little race and it was awsome, not the time I wanted but it was very well organized for its first year in operation.

I'll go with Black Bear. Tough course but stunningly beautiful. There were some other great races mentioned and, nothing against them but I wanted to get this one on the board.

This race has character!!!  The course is brutally tough and the views are beautiful.  For comparison, I did the 5430 Long Course in 2007 as well but when it comes to doing a destination race,  I just don't see how this can be beat.

I voted for the Honu Half which I beliefe is called Hawaii 70.3 now,,,,, Like all things IM gets ahold of they get rid of the local/historic name and put their "Brand on it".

My heart is with the SilvermAn half though, I think the volunteers at Silverman are better, the course at SilvermAn is more challenging and the overall event experience is a lot better with all of the pre and post athlete activities The things that Honu has going for it is the swim venue at Hapuna Beach, it's a lot warmer in Hawaii in June than NV in Nov. getting to ride the toughest part of the Hawaii IM bike course is a plus as well.

I look forward to doing them both again!!
