You may choose to bike OR swim OR run! This will be a Team Challenge. To participate - reply to this message and: 1) State your goal: bike or swim or run. (You may pick ONE.) 2) State your goal by time or distance. Time: in hours. Distance: in miles, km, meters or yards. Team spreadsheets will be put on Google Spreadsheets. Each team member may update his/her own info. However..... Each team will select a team captain. The team captain will be responsible for making sure that each team member updates the spreadsheet by the reporting dates, and/or will enter information for people who are unable to update the spreadsheet directly. In the event that many participants sign up, we'll create multiple teams. (For example, run1, run2, etc.) The Challenge will begin on January 1st, and end on January 31th. In the event of injury/illness, you may request to be dropped from the challenge, without penalty. If you achieve 100% of your goal before the month is over, you may request to raise your goal. At the end of the month, the winning team will be the team with the highest completion rate. The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the January Challenge!" All other (losing) teams will display a signature line: "My team sank like a rock on the January Challenge. I promise to do train harder month!" Signatures will be displayed for the month of February. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it. All training must be logged in your BT Training Log, by Sunday evening, your time. If it’s not logged and reported, it didn’t happen! For reporting, the weeks will run as follows: Jan 1 - Jan 6 Jan 7 - Jan 13 Jan 14 - Jan 20 Jan 21 - Jan 27 Jan 28 - Jan 31 Smack talking: -- Smack talking is not mandatory, but may be done. (Advance warning: Beth and Dee get a kick out of it. So expect to hear it from us!) -- Smack talk is different from a personal attack. If you aren’t sure what the difference is, err on the side of caution and do not post the comment. (Keep in mind that real people are reading your comments!) -- Smack talking is not to be taken personally. If you get upset about a post, ignore it and move on. -- If you find a post offensive, and cannot simply ignore it: Walk away from the computer until you feel better, OR better yet, go for a good workout. A hard workout does wonders for your perspective. The ultimate goal of this Challenge is to push yourself in an activity, to work out, to meet fellow BTers (virtually or otherwise), and to have some fun! Hopefully, this Challenge will give you a little extra incentive and motivation to succeed at your goal – whatever it may be. I would say you should shoot for the run challenge. |
