I have to make a small reduction in my goals because of an injury (hyperextended my knee yesterday). It affected 1 run and 1 peach so far, so I will make those changes. I hope that everything heals up for a great training week but I will drop in here if I need to make any more changes. Usually when I hyperextend my knee it only acts up for a couple of days...

Ow ow ow. I did that once. I still remember it. Ow ow ow.

I am making my fruitcake escape strategy...

What % do we need by the end of the month in order to not be considered fruitcakes? 80%? 85%? 90%?

Right now, without further weight loss, I am on track to get 80% by months end.

Tsk tsk. There is no 'escape strategy' allowed.

Once you enter, you can never leave.... etc etc etc

BUT you can go over 100% in other categories to make up for it. For example, if your weight loss goal isn't going to happen, you can still make up for it by going over on another goal. (But don't hurt yourself in the process).

For example, say the Fruitcake Lady had two goals. She only got 75% of one, but hit 125% of the other. She's still be at 100% for the month.*

(*Of course, being the Fruitcake Lady, she'll still be a Fruitcake at the end of the month, no matter what her percentages add up to. She *is* the Fruitcake Lady, after all.)

Ouch.  Didn't your parents teach you not to injure yourself?  It causes pain and interferes with training.

I reduced my bike goal a little. My bike is toast. It will cost over $700 to get it in good running shape so its time to get a new bike. I borrowed a bike but can only use it when it's not wet outside. I hope to get a replacement for Christmas. I started shopping already.

LOL yes it does!

If my mom had it her way I would be sedentary - she thinks training is doing me harm. Silly mom.

Mostly old age. The last time I went for a ride it wasn't sounding too good and pedals weren't turning smoothly. Bottom bracket led to crank which led to chain and cassette and derailers which led to new bike.

Keep the frame and turn the old one into a commuter bike.  Be sure to post pix of the new one!

Slowly but surely getting caught up on my goals.  Probably won't hit my running goal but should definitely hit my pushup/situps goal, strength training goal and with some effort should hit my bike goal.  I feel good about that since being sick took me out of training for over a week.

If my mom had her way, I'd not only be sedentary, but I'd be wrapped in pillows too.

Fortunately, I learned to employ "selective hearing" long ago. LOL

There is a total eclipse of the moon tonight.  It can be seen all over North America.  This is a rare treat for the winter solstice.  I hope you get to enjoy it!

We set the alarm to get up and watch the start of it. It was completely socked in with clouds. No hint of a moon anywhere. I checked later, no dice.
Bummer. We were all set, had snacks and beverages ready to watch.
sigh.

Well, it *could* have been seen all over North America, if it hadn't been so *cloudy* outside!

Thanks for the reminder though! I did go out there to check it out, but I couldn't see a thing.

Hm. I didn't think of snacks and beverages. Heh, a lunar eclipse party. I like it.

Like you, I couldn't see a thing. Too many clouds.

We got up to watch it.  Cloudy here as well.  Sounds like it was cloudy everywhere.  Oh well, it gave me extra time not to be a fruitcake today!

Living on the far northern California coast, I thought we had no chance of seeing the eclipse through clouds and rain and fog.  What a treat to have a relatively clear night!  We got to watch it until it was fully covered!  Cool!!!!  It clouded up and started raining after that.

I am making some progress....had to readjust the bball goal....were only 3 games scheduled in Dec.  Oops.

I will struggle to make the run goal - but I think I can do it - if we don't get the 5 inches they are predicting Th. Night.

Merry Christmas my friends!

Everything is on track except for pounds lost, which has left me a fruitcake!

I am actually down 1 additional lb today (2 total) and I think I am temporarily out of the fruitcake abyss.

???RANDOM FRUITCAKE UPDATE???

Cool

I had a little time between work and some appointments last night so I thought I would go for a run before I left. I walk out to the truck to put my stuff away and grab my running gear and there are my keys sitting on the front seat. I guess I dropped them as I was picking up the stuff for our Christmas festivities. I made it to my appointment with three minutes to spare. Can't do much running in three minutes. Hopefully today.
