Master 1623 | Subject: RE: February Training and Nutrition Challenge I need advice... I woke up this morning and the ball of my foot hurt and my achilles felt tight and hurt a little. Didn't feel anything at all when I ran yesterday or last night. I have a run scheduled for tonight after work and class. I went to rock climbing and climbed without problem but I'm not sure what to do about my run. Options are: a. rest b. run and see how it goes, stop if it hurts. What are everyone's opinions?? |

I know diet soda is a soda but... is diet soda really a soda? Surely you wouldn't hold that against me (gotta have my diet Dr. Pepper). Puhlease tell me only evil, sugar filled sodas are considered "soda". I know last month any sort of soda (regular or diet) was counted as soda so yes diet is a soda. And I've actually heard diet soda is worse for you than regular soda... can't remember the reasons though. |

Master 1623 | Subject: RE: February Training and Nutrition Challenge We rock climbed blindfolded today. It was definitely a great way of learning to trust yourself and gaining some confidence in what your body can do. First time was terrible but the second time I told myself to trust myself especially my legs as I tend to rely on my upper body a lot and I got about 2/3 up the wall to where the handholds get pretty tricky so I was really proud of myself. |

Concentrate on stretching your calves and hamstrings if you are short on time. Hold each stretch for a minimum of 30 seconds and do each stretch 3 or 4 times. Hold the stretches longer if you can. |

My right leg still acted up today on my attempt to run. I emailed my awesome and wonderful PT .....he says I can do what ever doesn't hurt BUT I am totally afraid to do anything until I can see Mr Wonderful PT. |

After I left class and walked to my car my foot hurt with every step I took and was getting more painful Decided not to run and I'm hoping this goes away overnight, I have a bike session planned for tomorrow morning so we'll see how that goes. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: February Training and Nutrition Challenge Thanks, Rachael.....The delicious piglet trainer thought he felt a lump on the achilles today. I e mailed Mr Wonderful PT and he says I can do whatever doesn't hurt but after all I went through I am afraid anything I do on it may somehow irritate things more and it will mean more time off. Also afraid it means going back to Dr Stupidhead who pulled me out of the boot in September and told me to have a nice life. (see, not all men are delicious or Wonderful) |

On the bright side, if I substitute water for my diet DP I'll also have my 64 oz of H2O. |

It's fun isn't it?? Major things that my instructor has told us is that once you get a good foothold put the majority of your weight on that leg and lean your hips in, this will take the strain off your upper body. Also resting with your arms straight and not contracting your muscles in anyway will also allow you to not wear out your upper body so quickly. Definitely try out the blindfolded climbing, it helps with trusting yourself and any fear of heights you may have. |

I admit I have only tried it successfully once, but tonight or tomorrow my husband and I are going to get our own gear (pays itself off in 12 visits in comparison to rentals) and we plan to climb once every 2 weeks or so. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: February Training and Nutrition Challenge owl_girl - 2011-02-08 10:45 PM pdbman - 2011-02-08 5:47 PM I started out doing so good. I was up at 5am to get in a workout. Veggies, fruit and yogurt for breakfast and snacks. But then as the day has gone by, my snacks are getting worse. I think we need to get to the store and replenish our pantry so I can leave the junk food alone. Get rid of the junk food. Then you will have more room in the pantry for good stuff! We usually do pretty good and don't have a lot of junk food around but lately we've had too much. Goodies left over from my wife's latest photo shoot. Most of the good stuff is gone though. Interesting thing. The goodies that make the best photos aren't necessarily the best tasting. |

Elite 3460 Slackerville, USA | Subject: RE: February Training and Nutrition Challenge TriAya - 2011-02-09 9:05 AM Well looky dat. I actually AM on the sheet now. And I don't have negative points. Other than doing pretty much jack schnitt as far as S/B/R, one thing I did get from this challenge in January is that I now eat like a grocer's truckfull of fruits and veggies every day. I mean, SCADS. I'm doing better on the fruits and veggies front as well. I'm sure my wife is getting frustrated since I've used up most of what was supposed to last a week so now we have to go back to the store. |
