I know I have not been doing really any long runs in quite a while, but I didn't realize how so.  Last nights run was my longest single run in a day since Feb 8, 2009.  No wonder every time I run I keep thinking "I've go so much work to do"  just to get close to where I was.....

Hope others are stretching themselves this month in the challenge....

Happt Monday everyone! ( or nearly Monday for a lot of you).

I hope everyones weekend races went well - looking forward to hearing about them.

Mine went amazingly well. I'll put up a race report when I have some pics, but the short version is that myself and my team mate were the only all female team in the 24h race and we managed to beat all the guys to win, by 5 clear laps to the next team! We did 33 (300m/8.8k/2.1k) in the time and actually finished 45 mins early as we were so far ahead. So, I raced a total of 4.5km swim, 165km bike and 31.5 km run. Now I am tired and sore but very happy. Oh, and I managed to get myself the nickname of the machine from a bunch of the tri guys which was quite amusing.

Had to put in a estimate of 3 miles for my 2+ hours of hiking / walking the hills around my deer lease to find a new stand location.  I assume that an estimated mileage is alright for this challenge.

Ugh, what a few days...  My 6 year old was supposed to have a cavity filled on Thursday, where they give the kids laughing gas to relax them.  My drama queen (DQ) had the exact opposite reaction and got freaked out, nasty and almost violent.  The poor girl had a really hard time calimg down and it was a rough night all around...  Friday, I had to say goodbye to a close coworker (how dare he take a better job!) and then came home to an overtired DQ who, quite honestly, had me dreaming of running away from home for a while.  Yesterday morning I got up early before the kids got up since hubby cleared me to run away for a long bike ride.  Oh, did that feel good!!!  But then last night, DQ was up all night (and therefore me too) with an upset stomach.

I feel so bad for my very emotional dd...  and at the same time I just need to go to sleep.  Had an aweful "run" today.  Was so tired, I momentarily thought about napping on the side of the road, since it was nice and quiet.  Instead, I'm off to bed now and hope to start of this weekn a lot better than last week ended!

Oh wow, I feel for you Rhoda and hope things get better!

I have to confess that although its not really funny I did giggle briefly at your thoughts of a roadside nap. I have had the same thoughts on occasion but usually when I am a little worse for wear after an evening of drinking.

Hope you have a good nights sleep!

Not one that I'm thrilled by, hence the 2+ hours of walking around, but it does not matter as long as I'm doing it, and getting my daughter involved.

I'll post more later but I just had to let you all know that I GOT FIRST FEMALE OVERALL at the sprint tri I did today!!!!!  The swim sucked because my goggle filled with water but then I ripped it up on the bike and run.  I ended up with a 5K PR!  Yes.....faster than my fastest open 5K!!!!  Holy crap!!!!  I wore my Garmin on the run so I know it was a perfect 5K distance.  My previous 5K PR was at the Carlsbad 5000 which is a pretty famous, chip timed race.  I need to go do the Carlsbad 5000 again and see what happens!  Holy crap!!!!!  I'm so excited!!!!!

Only got the one session in on the weekend, so thankfully it was for 11% of my total goal.

Back into training today, not sure exactly what for at the moment as I've made the decision not to go for the IM Melb at this stage (I'll still be around Yanti).  I can't justify the race entry cost with the woeful refund policy with my recent history of injury at the moment so I've decided I'm not going to be entering on the 28th when entries open - if it doesn't sell out and I get a few months of good training under the belt without injury I'll look at entering then.  I'm thinking of doing a long course later on in the season, maybe a few oly distance races as well.

In other tri related news, I was race referee for the first time at a race on Sunday.  It all went quite well without any real incidents other than an irate mother of an 11 year old boy who went left at a signed corner instead of right, but what are you going to do about that one?

Holy cow, sounds like it was IMesque.  Sounds like a good race to put down for the future to escape some Melb winter

As far as I'm concerned you are a Machine!!
Congratulations.

I'm just under where I should be, I missed a run last week - feeling super flat. But I'm back and feeling better than I have in a while. Should be able to finish strong!
