After taking the week off of running - I plan to have a couple of nice weeks and hit my goal of 60 miles this month!!! (it would be my first 60 mile month since last November Cry )

After all the slogfesting hot and humid runs of the summer we are starting to get nice run weather.  Delightful in fact.  Of course it's a tease since it's only August and likely to get disgustingly hot and humid again soon.

Ok, I'm finally back doing something. 14 mins of walk/running - a little over 1 min running before my shin started hurting again

anyway it puts me up to 84.53 mins of running since I'm counting the walking I do with it because that's how I count it in my logs.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back to my Strength class again tomorrow to increase the time some more.

Nice job, Bill! I checked your blog and saw all the gorgeous pictures you posted. Is your commute scene the same as it was when you posted the cool photo of an old building on the water. I just loved that one.

Robin - You're killing the yard work minutes! Way to go!

Suzielea - Sorry about your shin pain. Are you doing anything specific to help heal. I think those just take some time and R.I.C.E.

Judi - I don't know where you live but we're having the same unbelievably beautiful 70s weather and cool sleeping nights in Indiana. Forecast is it to creep back up into mid 80s the remainder of the week. The bummer is that I'm traveling to Ohio for my HIM on Sunday and the forecast is for low 90s. Ugh - probably will me a slower run and the only thing good about that is it'll help me add more minutes to my run time for purposes of this challenge.

Scott - Nice goal of 60 miles. You can do it!

I'm cleaning my freezer today since I'm in taper mode. Fun! Happy Tuesday everyone!

Best workout of my life today.... joined a new gym called 9Round. It's all kickboxing oriented, lots of punching bags and speed bags.  It was so much fun.  I joined right after my free workout and got myself some gloves and hand wraps!  I can't wait to go back tomorrow.  There's not a muscle in my body that didnt get worked today

Oh, Ann, sorry about your shoulder. Hope you had fun playing with your daughter's softball team, though.

Bill - I didn't find any fudgsicles but I found some old icees that were still pretty flavorful. Enjoy your rest day!

Emma - I've never done kickboxing but if it was the best workout of your life then I've got to look into it. Glad you found a workout place that you're excited to go to.

jrichardtri - Knee pain is no fun - I had to DNF a trail run in April due to it and I cried like a baby. The best advice I was given was to take it easy upon returning to running. Stay on flat surfaces and just go slow. Let us know how it's going.


My freezer took about 5 hours to defrost and clean up....phewwwww....I don't want to have to do that job for another 10 years. I was getting antsy about my HIM Sunday so I did an OWS and a 6 mile run and felt much better afterwards.
