Been doing very well on my diet this week.  Last night was Baked Tilapia with a strawberry salsa, a balsamic cucumber and berry salad, and avacado "fries"

Delicious.

Working out going well too.  Rested Sunday, 3 mile run Monday morning, spin class this a.m., and probably a 4 mile this evening.  Scale should be good to me come Friday if I keep this up.

Avacado fries!?  YUM!

I added blueberries to the above, and let me tell you balsamic vinegar and blueberries is some kind of good.

Don't have a dehydrator so I subbed out some of the coating (nutritional yeast) with italian seasoning and ate raw.  Delicious.

Alas sir it wasn't meant to be.  I was under contract to the Marine Corps through my college ROTC program at Texas A&M.  However, while in Quantico at OCS I tore up my knee on a hump and became medically ineligible as I had already had that same knee surgically repaired once thanks to football.  It was in the mid 90's and the military was not in need of as many people as it was today therefore we parted ways amicably.  So while it truly was a Marine Corps PFT that I clocked such a great time on, in the end I did not ever have the priviledge to serve.

Apologies for statements that may have been misleading, but do want it known that I did not have the chance to serve despite the desire to do so.

My eternal thanks to those who do.

Well, suck a$$!  My apologies.  I meant no offense.  Your reason for having not served is fair.  Somethings are really beyond our control.  I tip my hat to you still for trying.

As for me, Uncle Sam's Navy will be retiring me in 342 days.  Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the recipes. Yummm!

Back on the downward trend - bounced up a couple pounds in the last 2 weeks, but this morning am at lowest since 2010 (I think)...162.4! Hoping for a good solid end to the week and a great weigh-in on Friday!

"seasonal bloating"....will see how I feel about that in regards to jumping on the scale.  At least I'm feeling better, baby steps.

Girls night tonight.....this is going to be a tough one.  Surrounded by margaritas, chips and salsa, and there is always goodie-bags with cupcakes from one the the best cupcake bakeries in SF!  Will stick with a glass of redwine and nurse it and I guess I won't take a goodie bag.

How'd you do, Abbie? Stand your ground?

Tonight I have to take a speaker out to dinner...hoping that I can eat well. Thankfully the speaker is also a health freak, so I won't have to eat dessert with him. (And I don't think he drinks, but darnnit - if I'm going to a fancy restaurant with good wine, I'm going to have a glass.)

Hey all, just back from a 2 week vacation. I ate, drank and had a grand time. I only gained 2 pounds (I would have bet more) and am pretty sure that it is mostly water weight. I was in Key West and it is easy to eat well there, tons of fish and fruit and veggies.

I am finally well, too (knocking on wood) so I hope to be able to crank up the marathon training and see if I missed too much to actually do the race. 4 weeks of training to go.

Have wonderful days all.

I did very well, thanks!  I avoided the chips and salsa, ordered 1 glass of red wine and fish tacos.  I just ate the grilled talapia, left the tortilla.  Wound up eating a piece of a jalapeno on the grilled fish and the ate 2 chips to help kill the burning!  Brought my friend with me and told her to take my cupcake. Overall very successful night.

Have been doing really well with sticking to juicing - adding a salad and green soup with beans. Have been under 1100 cals. every day this week. So of course I haven't lost any weight. I'm sure that my body is holding on, but I will outlast it.
I'm having one food day a week and woke up today thinking it was it. Had Kashi golean and soy milk for breakfast and felt hungry, thought about food

  • I know that the answer is to eat reasonably, but if I could do that I won't be fat. I am realizing that food is not my friend, I have abused it and been ashamed of the results.

I am hoping that I can continue juicing as it seems to take me out of the eating mode. I see food and just think that that's not for me and grab a green juice. I don't even want them to taste too yummy. I want to start seeing food as fuel.

Plan is when I have lost the weight I'll work on reintroducing food in a way that leaves me in control of what I eat. I'm committed to juicing for the next 6 weeks having already done about two weeks (with a day or two off but healthy)

Writing this as I hope it keeps my resolve up, don't want to come back to the group having not kept to the plan.

Just getting back into working out so I thought it through: small protein shake to get me through and an apple or so after. Ultimately I want to burn fat but I know I have to feed my body to compensate workouts - just keeping it liquid or fruit.

Make sure you get your nutrition in that you need so you don't burn muscle. Try logging what you are juicing on a site like Caloriecount.com that shows carbs, protein, fat and vitamin for each item. It can help you know if you are fueling right while you are reducing calories. Good luck

This morning I tipped the scales at 206.  Down but disappointing.  I was hoping for a bigger loss but I guess spin class doesn't burn it up like real biking does.

Gonna be a tough weekend for me, and the weekends is where I feel I am getting off track as far as my diet goes.  However this weekend will be especially tough as it is my company's annual hunting trip.  Where we take our customers and wine and dine them while enjoying the great outdoors in South Texas.  A weekend usually rife with rich foods, empty calories, high carbs, and copious amounts of alcohol.

Gotta stay focused if I wanna bust 200.

161.8 this morning - down nearly 6 pounds since 1/1!!! I haven't been perfect about eating, but I've been careful and consistent. And it's paying off.

Wow, congrats on "getting down" everyone!

I'm at 136 ugg....hopefully next week I will see a loss.  Granted it's down from the major gain from being ill, but still up from the beginning.  Started counting my veggie carbs a few days ago.  Hoping this will make a difference.
