How do you guys do it...  I cannot for the life of me run or bike with music.  I have tried but I don't like it.   I feel kind of unsafe not to mention I also feel that I am not doing my best.   Talk about data, when I did IMFL the only piece of equipment I decided to read was my heart rate monitor.  I followed my heart rate all the way and i had a great race.   I did not care for time or speed and it paid off...

I'm just the opposite, I can keep a faster pace longer with music becuase I concentrate on the song instead of my body telling me to slow down. As far safety, I don't have it very loud so I can hear others around me. I need to know my time's on my garmin because every race I have a goal time and it makes or breaks the race in my mind.

rstocks3 - 2008-01-23 8:58 PM Ding! Ding! Ding! TIM WINS THE PRIZE!!!!!!

Ummm...what's the prize....hopefully not another suicidal swim set?!?!

I don't know if it's such a good thing I knew that! . A nice seque into my problematic eating habits however.  I have the world's sweetest tooth and cannot seem to get on track with my nutrition and weight loss goals.  Any words of wisdom, other than lard a$$, or tools you guys have used to lose, or maintain, weight.  Mine seems to be a mind of matter thing, and I don't like being told I can't have something (even it's me saying it..yes, I know I have issues, but we'll go there at a later date)

Thx

I have the same problem with sweets! I love them! When I started training I was by no mean's over weight but could trim a couple pounds, now I struggle to keep weight on when training hard. My stratagy in diet is out of roughly 35 meals per week I make 32/33 of them "healthy" and the other couple I just eat what ever I want in moderation, and every Sunday my wife and I go and get Ice cream to satisfy the sweets! Not sure if this works for everyone but has for me. Or you could start training for a IM and burn about 3,000 cal per day and 5,000 on weekends lol

Good luck

Mine is pretty much the same thing.. I have been told my thyroid is the culprit family genetics to be exact.  I refuse to be a victim and will do my best to keep my healthy appearance.

Now its time for some birthday cake Undecided

If you rip your thyroid out of your body, like the priest in Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom, it will not be a culprit anymore.  Just a thought.  If you do it, you have to upload the whole thing on our website.
