HI guys.  How was the weekend?

I did my 2nd tri on Sunday.  Had an absolute freakin blast.  Had my husband, son, mom and dad there cheering me on.  It was my mom's b-day and my husband and my's 6th anniversary  My son ran with me across the finish line.  Got 1st in athena cat.  Only one other girl (athena) behind me, and I was only 3 minutes ahead of her.  But, time is time I guess.  Much better performance than last time.  I still hate running

I had to make up for past evils (training etc) and took the wife for a belated anniversary trip to Jamaica. It was ok...nice to get away from home to a beach but a fair amount of rain, sub par Ritz-Carlton relative to other RCs and not a safe feeling place outside of your hotel compound. From a tri training perspective, it had a very rocky beach with strong currents that made any open water swim very dangerous (not alot of other tris looking for group swims on vacation anyway) and the property is relatively small making an outdoor run harder to do (but did have decent treadmills). Wouldn't recommend it but hey, it was a get away from ATL.

Happy Monday.  Did anyone race this weekend?  I did.  A modified Oly (4 vs 6 mi run) that was super hot.  Pretty happy with the results, 19th overall, 3rd AG, first AG on swim, 20+ mph avg bike (not great but I was conserving for run)), sub 7:15 run pace.  Terrible t-1 where I lost 40 seconds due to "sticky socks".  Anyway, I am pretty darn happy with it.
