You need to copy the text and then go to your control panel > click your goals tab > click the html button and then paste it in at the end.

Back in town and enjoying day 1 of my spring break. We had prime spring skiing conditions with lots of deep soft snow though it was a bit on the heavier side so I am a bit sore but it was well worth it.

I am sooooo glad that I go in my shorts and T run on Friday as we returned to town to find about 15 cm of new snow?! HUH?! No more shorts outdoors for another week or so...I just hope that things clear up in time for my race in 2 weeks! I would be so bummed if it were to get cancelled!

fingers/toes/arms/legs crossed for better weather...and that your race will go on! have a great time off! you deserve it after your hell week you just survived of grading/parent teacher conferences! what race are you doing?

AndriaLL - 2009-03-23 12:11 PM

I see we are still winning the "most posts" award in the 2009 BT Mentor Program   There is one, right?

Sorry I don't get here much.  My home computer is not working right and work is usually pretty locked down.  Then when I do get here, so much has happened since the last time, that I can't seem to get caught up on it all...then there are the times I'm just unmotivated with my injuries and the "big race" quickly approaching...

I did see there are new people here so I'd like to say "welcome".  Julie does an awesome job of inspiring us all, even when we occasionally drop off the face of the earth.  She finds us

As for me, I did get one good day of training this weekend.  An 11-mile walk/run thingy.  I had to walk and stretch alot due to my calf tear still healing and wanting to cramp up on me.  Then a 22 mile bike ride.  This was after the walk/run and my head was a little foggy.  I knew I had an appointment so decided since I can't get my full 30 miles in, I might as well do fewer miles uphill...problem with that is uphill is slow and it ends up taking the same amount of time!  Then I turned around at the halfway point and came screaming down the hill to realize I could have gone up the hill further as coming back was going to be faster...oh well.  I got a nice tan.

Sunday was stuck on the hill all day.  I use the word "stuck" as it was way too hot to be skiing after about 10 a.m.  My daughter raced very well in the morning, and we therefore had to stay all day to make it to the awards ceremony as she got 6th and 7th place on her two runs.  (Top 10 get awards)  Everyone got a little cranky (and stinky) in that heat, though.  By the time we got home everyone needed a nap and no triathlon training got done.  I plan to make up for that tonight.

thanks for stopping by and letting us know how you are! you are too kind about my inspirations! I do want you all to achieve and will do what I can to keep you going forward...and one day is better then NO day! kiu Andria!

Thanks Nicole - I got mine up and it is working fine.

Jules - I hope you feel better with each passing minute!!!! Can't have my bestest mentor having the icks...

Andria - you did awesome this weekend on your walk/run(mostly run) and your bike, plus doing the ski trip!!!!

Julie Hoosier - you just get the details for your new tri group and I would love to show up for a couple of training sessions!!! Remember I'm on the YMCA open water sprint...you need to consider doing it, you would have a great time. Don't worry about all the bike lingo...I still don't know it, but can ride a 16/18 mph pace for 20-32 miles, or I could last summer, I will have to work my way back to that. You will learn as you go like we all did Just ask, and if someone makes you feel stupid "shame on them!" because we were all there at one point until someone helped us out.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday... My plans changed a bit, I was going to do a 2 mile run, but got a call that we can see the 19 acre land with home tonight at 6:00, we have been looking for about two years for just the right place but it hasn't happend yet, I like this area because it is so close to all my training areas in the wildlife refuge...I know should I really base my decision on that.......well "YES!" what else would I base it on....ha So we will be walking the acreage and looking at the barn, house and two detached buildings, so that will be my workout today. Tomorrow is shaping up to be a good workout day time wise...I can get work done early, do some house painting and then go train.

I'm soooooo glad to be back with all of you, and very glad the new members can be part of this wonderful group

It's just a wee one for beginners...they call it a super-sprint! 525m/17km/3km and it is hosted by the local college. Keeping my fingers crossed that this snow will melt- there is A LOT- but who knows in this town- we can have snow one day and then be running in shorts the next- or vice versa in this case.

cuz thats the type of gal I am...

no, no, no - I mean just taking it a lot easier this week, but still working out.

Offthegrid - 2009-03-22 11:12 AM (I had taken a lessons before AND been videotaped by swim coaches with good credentials, but I never got real suggestions for improvement. Soooooooooo, I don't think I'm ever going to judge an instructor by his/her age again. In hindsight, I have to wonder if the previous coaches had "fat bias" that made them ignore my technique and just say I need to swim more.)

sounds fair...you dont judge by age...and they can not judge by size!

can I borrow your instructor for a few swim sessions? I need help in A BAD(bad not being good) WAY!

The main things I was doing wrong were: 1) lifting head to breathe 2) kicking my feet wide apart, especially when breathing. I mean wide front to back, not left to right 3) Putting my head too low 4) Reaching into the water at the goggle line instead of a bit above my head.

ok...I am a visual person...and can not seem to get a visual on what you mean on numbers 2 and 4~ can you be a bit more explicit...I am intrigued and need all the help I can get!

No. 4 simply means I was putting my hand in the water too soon. So I was actually creating drag doing that, too.

no...the reaching into the water at the goggle line!? not following you here!?!

After I breathed, I was putting my hand in the water even with my goggles. ... Somehow in my brain I thought that's what you were supposed to do to keep a high elbow. You shouldn't reach waaaaay out, but you shouldn't put it in the water so early, too.

Along these same lines, the ladies today told me that I am also likely holding my arm that is stretched out in front of me too low in the water. I lack shoulder flexibility, so that's something that might take some time to totally correct.

MDHillSlug - 2009-03-22 7:12 PM I got in about an hour on the tri bike on the trainer stand but it was spaced out over almost 2 hours. I was stopping like every 5 or 10 minutes to tweak something (and do a load of laundry). Not a very satisfying ride, but it seemed easier to push that bike faster and I did about 19 miles in about an hour. I'd never come close to that before. That was exciting. I can't wait to get it out on the road next weekend!

theres no catching you now!!

good luck with the wrist issues....no more sore ankles, eh?

I don't think there was any catching Nicole before ...

Another pretty good swimming lesson, but I think I'm only going to do 1 or 2 more weeks.

My 100 yard warmup time was down to 2:06! And the 500 was down to 11:07. If I can perfect turning, I can probably get that down another 30 seconds on my own.

Still doing pretty good on nutrition, too. I wonder if I lost anything this week because I ate a lot more so I wouldn't get so hungry after my long days thsi weekend. It's hard for me to know how much to eat to still lose weight.

Nite Julee...take care of yourself and I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Question for you guys...I cut and paste the group's list, but when I try to click on a name nothing happens. Did I do something wrong??

MDHillSlug - 2009-03-23 9:01 PM My new crankset showed up already (ordered on Friday) but I can't get one of the bottom bracket cups off! Grrr! Now, I'm going to have to take to a shop to get it taken care of. Double Grr!!!  Yell

Well, I got it off! This internet thingy actually had a solution for my problem: the tool kept slipping out of the part; a clamp to hold it in place and I was golden. Now, I have to adjust the derrailleur to work with the new crank. Two step forward, one step back.
