I never ever ever ever buy finisher gear before I finish., the finisher gear come out Mon and it looks worse than Walmart the day after Thanksgiving!

I'm pretty sure finisher stuff is Monday only-you can buy LP IM stuff before then, but on Monday they have "finisher 2011" stuff out.  But FYI, we did get a hat and shirt at the finish line last year that said 2010 finisher.

It's good to hear my IMLP RR was helpful to someone. =) I tried to put a lot of thought into it, especially for a first-timer.  Good luck with your race!

I will be hanging out at the Yellow/Green peoples tent this week.  It's Broome County Triathlon Club and we should be on Mirror Lake Drive during the race to cheer you all on and hang out.  I'll try to sport my BT tri suit when I am swimming, though, so feel free to say "Witty!" or "Sara!" if you see me! =)

Safely made it to Lake Placid today. Currently sitting in my hotel room.

Only one small problem, turns out the change I made to my reservation never made it into the system and they still had me checking in tomorrow. Took care of, not a big deal. 

However there is a very large problem. The Cable TV doesn't get Versus.... how am I supposed to watch the tour now????!!!!!!

This is why I am bringing my computer! I didn't want to drag it along but Tour trumps easy. Haha. 

I packed up my bike in its box yesterday and will be flying from Vancouver to Montreal red eye and driving down to LP in the morning. Now I just have to get the box out of the basement...up a flight of stairs and into my SUV...I think I can manage it by myself...having my BF in the same country as me would help a lot in moments like this!  That's what guys are for right? Carrying the heavy stuff?

All my gear has been checked and double checked to make sure I am not missing anything! 

Okay, got the 9am date with the BTers.  See you guys on Friday!

Yeah, you might confuse the line for the next year registration line from what I saw last year. 

That's exactly what we did last year - got in the line for shopping rather  than signing up.  After standing in line for awhile it was a bummer to go to another line and start at the back again.

We arrived at LP late yesterday afternoon.  Before we left, I said to my husband we are going to be different people when we  return.  We will be an Ironman!  The week before we left, I was feeling a little like I did before we sent our  kids off to college.  Did we do all we could to prepare them to be safe and successful out on their own?  You start to worry about it and realize that whatever you did, the time for that is now done, and now on to the next stage, come what may. 

A few things we've learned at LP.  If you go grocery shopping at Price Chopper, get an Advantage card right away.  It will discount some prices and also get a reduction in gas at their station.  The swim was comfortable in a wetsuit.  There are so many nice and friendly people around here, it is fun just to get out and talk to others.

Looking forward  to finally meeting all of you.

The nervous energy has begun.  Pacing around the house and starting to pack.  8 months of prep and THE weekend is around of corner.  Crazy psyched!!

Reading the information guide one last time before heading up to LP tomorrow.  Is Friday's "Mandatory Athlete Race Briefing" @ 7:30 really mandatory???  If so, are family allowed or racers only?   

Tankboy, you made me spit up my dinner all over my keyboard.  I LOVE it.

I'm doing the OCD packing right now, reviewing all my lists and my list of lists. My gym bag is in my wife's car and she dropping her daughter off at her mom's and it's making me crazy not having that hear to inventory and pack.

I imagine that there will be a few times on Sunday when I will just sort of sit back and take it all in and remind myself that I'm doing a freaking Ironman. I mean really, how cool is this?!

I'm sooooooooooo antsy right now. Just sitting in the lab and wanting to get out of here to go pack up my car and go to the airport.......LP here I come!

Glad to hear everything is going well with those already there and coming together for people getting ready to leave!

Just dropped my pup off at doggy daycare and put the finishing touches on packing to head up in the morning. It will be nice to leave the 100 degree weather here for some cooler temps this weekend.

I hope I have an opportunity to meet most of you over the course of the trip. I've really enjoyed this group! Safe travels.

SO I've been delayed leaving Vancouver and I got here over 4hrs too early for my switched flight....I whined a little bit about being so early because I came early for my original flight to make sure my bike was dealt with effectively....so they waved the fees for my bike. I guess I can't really complain. Free bike transport?? Booooyaaaaaaahhhhhh

Haha. Is it weird that that makes it okay I am here so early? Luckily I have my computer to keep me occupied!
