Great job Suzy!   If you don't like the swimming it looks like you could go pro in duathlons!!   And as a fellow Team Shi member I totally vote for her fast 5K (or a hair shy) time!   Smile

I AM NOT SURE IF I RACED THIS MORNING OR NOT!   I mean I am tired as he11 and a little sore, but the busterds don't have #131 on the race results.  GO FIGURE.  I know the chip was working because the announcer called out my name when I crossed the first mat coming in to the finish.

Oh well it may be a moral booster to not know how I did.  I had to check my back about 2 to 3 miles into the run and make sure there was not a sign on my back that says PASS ME.  WTF can people really run like that?  I guess I am not a runner, but on the bright side I did pretty good on the swim and bike.

I felt like I did really well on the swim.  I was not nervous at the start, as it was a TT start and we went off 2 at a time by anticipated swim times.  I don't think that I was really passed by many people, but really have no idea.   Man those bouys were out there, but I knew I could handle it  and felt strong till the end.  (note to self...do not hydrate before the swim, there will be plenty of hydration DURING the swim)

Transition was a joke.  My quick method of getting my socks and shoes off went out the window as soon as i bent over and cramped!  Took off on the bike and felt good the whole way.  Loved passing those rear disks disk bikes on those hills, although the last few miles were down hill and I heard the "buzz" a few times.  I will say that that is the fastest I have ever ridden.  Stayed in the drops most of the time and felt really comfortable.  My HR stayed really high on the bike...150 + which is outrageous for me, and I tried to bring it down the last couple miles, but didn't.

OK the run SUCKED!  nuff said  I know where my focus needs to be the next few months.

Hopefully I will be able to retrieve my data to see my times, but then again maybe not.  But I was thinking about asking for a refund

OK my time had to have been off today.  I swam a 1.2 in 37:55.  Steve just got out of the water in 39:xx.  Yeah, I'm thinking I'm not that fast

edit.. that includes about a minute stop to pee in the wetsuit.  I know some of you say that's a good idea.  Maybe.  When the water is cold. But not when its ~ 85 and its 90 some degrees out.   that was actually kinda gross.  we were wearing them because our half is legal.

When the heck did Boise start? Only swim times are posted.  Roni, bib 551 was out in 53' so both are out there biking liking maniacs!

Barry---so proud of you for getting that first tri under your belt and feeling so confident in the swim.  Please tell me you have a Garmin to keep track of your bike and run times!  That would suck not to know.  They have to have it if they said your name as you were crossing the finish line, right? Costco has Garmin Forerunner  305s on sale for $149.  A real bargain.  I just bought one online for a friend of mine.

John--you just swam1.2m in 37minutes? WOW!

I love Ironman live.  I find it addicting!

Suzy, this year they moved the race to a 2:00 MDT start.
Strange, but kinda cool - they'll be racing into the evening.

My race is over for the day.  I was not 100% pleased with my performance, but once again I have learned a lot.  I missed my goal time by 6 minutes.  Lost it on the swim and the run.  I need to train more - that is woefully obvious!  There is another race on this same course on in one month.  I think I will sign up.  I know I can bring minutes off my time.

the jury is still out on that.  we've been swimming a new course and the guys are fairly confident the distance is accurate off a 305.  but, as you might have picked up on in my previous, i am not that fast so a little suspicious.  hmmmmm

Linda you beat me to it. He averaged 19.78 mph on the bike, abd 2.03/100 on the swim.

Roni averaged 2.47/100 on the swim and is still on the bike.

I finished my Sprint this morning.  It was a lot of fun!  My parents ended up driving up to watch too.  It was cool to have them there!  I did ok.  I think I was a couple of minutes faster than last year - not a lot better, but a tiny little bit!  I am waiting for the official results to be posted.  I got so little sleep last night because of the dog (Yes, I love him dearly!!)
that I feel like I have been up for two days.  I am off to bed now, but I will post details tomorrow.

I am back from my duathlon and happy to report I was the 2nd female overall and 1st in my AG!  Take away the swim and I am semi competitive!  The bike was a bright spot. I passed so many studs along the way.  Of course, one of them passed me on the last leg of the run, but it was at least eye candy because at that point I was about to pass out .  My ashtma is really becoming an issue.  Gotta figure that out. When my inhaler no longer touches the situation,. it is a problem!

I thought of my Team 4 the entire first leg.  I was going up the biggest frickin' hill, barely breathing with asthma in full swing and I thought I gotta get my game on so I kept going.  Way into Z5!   Post race, my Garmin says 3.0m .  Can I still count this for the contest, but add additional time for missing .1m?  The race was called a 5k!

Well enough jabbering.  I am sending good karma to those still racing!

Suzy

PODIUM GIRL!!! nice work Suz..Ms. Duathalon you.
