Nice! like the color scheme too.

evondo - 2010-03-13 10:00 PM So it ends up Uncle Sam has been taking way too much of my $$$ through the year.  Gave me the new bike itch that's been going around. I started noticing my bike is flexing quite a bit in the bottom bracket area last week so a new race setup might be in the works.

Talked to the store I race for to see what kind of deal I'm able to get racing/coaching for them, numbers sounded good so I'm considering the QR CD0.1. Will swap some of my upgraded P2SL components to that bike for a race setup and continue to beat the crap out of the P2SL in training. Still on the fence but will be getting a fit setup on the prospect and ride it around to see how I like it.  Definitely a much more fun paint job than the boring ole Cervelo...

p.s- can't believe you were not wearing your bubble wrap.

Nicole83 - 2010-03-14 8:45 AM

I am SUCH a grouch when sleep deprived.  Between the daylight savings and the new flock of blue herons that have moved into the pond next to my house, I haven't slept more than 2 hours straight in 2 days.

If you're not familiar with what the beautiful blue heron sounds like, watch Asian porn at full volume.

Okay, now watch it at 2, 3, and 4 a.m. while trying to sleep.

I'm cosidering buying a gun and going endangered species hunting.

Agree- usually first set is always faster.. gotta find that pace

Newtons1st - 2010-03-11 3:42 PM That seems like a drastic fall off for 100s. Depending on the distance/rest and sets.  I would say ease up a little on the front half to maintain a more consistant pace which will be faster overall for longer swims.  If you are doing something like 10x100 maybe you need a little more rest in between the sets.

GoFaster - 2010-03-12 1:40 PM

Got to ask about swimming (although I'm sure eveyone is focused on Nicoles post), but how much faster are you in the water on your first 100 vs the rest of your sets.  I find that I typically fall off by as much as 10 seconds / 100 yards.  Is that normal?

Nicole83 - 2010-03-15 3:58 PM Hahahahhahahaa.

I just twisted my ankle and landed on my face walking out of an appointment this afternoon.

The good news is, I think I got a sympathy sale out of it.

The bad news is, this baby is swelling faster than I can get ice on it.

Hahahahahah.

Come on people, laugh at me.

Right after I got home from the swim, my stomach was cramping and having pains. The only way to ease the pain was to lean over (old man with a cane pict).. the pain was excrutiating and lasted almost two hours. The last three times I went swimming, two of them I've had this issue. The first I blamed it on the G2 drink during the swim. During my second swim I opted not to take anything and had very little to no pain at all, but today was down right awful

I ate breakfast two hours earlier *usual egg sandwich on whole wheat with cheese) and an hour before I had a clif bar and 9oz water bottle during the swim.

After having lunch with Maureen and in pain at the same time (I was starving), she told me it might be the water or air swallowed. Hmmm that made me think a little. Water is usually very little to none but the air factor rang a bell. I've been pushing harder on the swims and don't really remember gulping any air. Looks like I have to pay more attention to the breathing pattern ( In , hold- don't gulp- exhale). We'll see.

Have you experienced any stomach pains or GI issues after a swim?

I left a comment to this effect in your inspires as well, but any sort of sports drink (Gatorade especially) does a number on my stomach.  It includes SEVERE cramping and then some pyrotechnics that would probably traumatize some proctologists, so I won't got into the details here.

But could it be the sports drink?  Do you use G2 during other types of training sessions without problems?

Has it been this bad your whole life?  Is your equilibrium off?  Do you like tire swings and walk around dizzy?  There has to to be a fix for this.

Try to be careful.

Yep.  I live in M'town.  Lots of good running options around here.  There are two new 1/2 mary's this year in the area.  The Unite half at the Rutgers campus in April and the Superhero half in M'town in May. I didn't get into the NYC half so will probably do both of these.  Still have my fingers crossed for NYC marathon. Let me know if you run any out this way.  Given your speedy runs lately I'll never see you. Cool

KelliD - 2010-03-15 3:15 PM Way to stick it out!!  Was that the 5k in Morristown?  My parents live 10 minutes north.  I was going to head out for this but the weather made for a change of plans.

kcarroll - 2010-03-14 7:26 PM Hi gang.  Had a pretty good weekend workout wise.  Saturday I scored some HTFU points.  Ran 2 miles to the start of St. Patty's day 5k.  Ran the race. Ran home. Nothing spectacular in that but it was 38*, raining sideways and wind gusts at 40mph+.  Please let spring be here soon.
