kew - 2009-03-27 7:37 PM Hi everyone... Julee...I am so glad you heard from Cath. I have been worried sick about her. Will keep her and her daughter in my thoughts and prayers. Feel like I am fighting a cold so I am going to take some extra vitamin C and go to bed early tonight. Have a great weekend everyone...train safe.

have a great day ALL...TRAIN WELL! and CHECK IN! time to hear from some of you....

YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE! dont make me name names.

This has been a really rough week work wise for me (actually it's been a CRAZY month).  Just trying to keep my head above water with one deadline after another.  Two more deadlines for the 31st - I'll be working all weekend but April is looking up.  I'm a legal nurse consultant at a large law firm and over the last 2 days, they have laid off roughly 15% of the secretarial staff (12 secretaries).  Scary times, so I guess I should be happy I have so much work at this point.  More layoffs to come, but at this point, I'm not too worried since I'm kind of specialized.  But who knows.  (I'm taking a short break from work right now.) I actually got dressed for my run this evening, then my oldest son called asking to borrow some money and to go "grocery shopping" in my kitchen.  My niece is flying in to town tonight to stay for a few days to go to a wedding.  I'm feeling like a slacker and hate that guilty feeling that comes over me when I can't keep up with my training schedule.  Just trying to push it out of my mind for the next few days, but April is new month!

Trying to keep up with all the going ons and will get back to everyone individually when I get the chance.  You are all such a great group!

Hope everyone has a great Friday!  Time to get back to work now!

Lisa...crazy month is an understatement! hoping things settle for you soon...sounds like an interesting job...no routine checking on patients for you! good luck with job security...really scary times for many of us right now!!! and so many uncertainties in our jobs that seemed so secure just a year ago!!!!

love the son and the money and shopping from your cabinet statement! oh how our kids know how to play our heartstrings and able to walk away with almost anything we own...including the kitchen sink!

training will happen....and here is to April being a great month! HERE HERE!!!

we do have a great group...and an amazing bunch of gals that just joined us too!

plus, one final note...Cath emailed me today and she said she would also like to join us but will be a while before she can...hoping we can add her to the list and try and send her inspires...seems she is worried about a mammogram and one of her children is having some eye problems! sooooo inspire her please!!!!!

Jennifer also contacted me and will be back soon...she is having motivational issues and promises to return soon!

I also called Allyssa and spoke with her last night...she will be back today she said...was glad to hear from her! was worried with all the talk about this mtn lion...and this prevert that just moved in near her!

SOOOOOO glad to hear from them! and again if you can inspire them all   - - that would be awesome!

Have  a great day! today is the beginning of the rest of your life...TRAIN WELL!!!!!

feel better Karen! if you can get your hands on some echinacea pills from GNC or health stores...this helps me to keep from getting colds....it is an immune booster...some people take them daily...but I take them when I feel like I am getting a cold or run down! good luck and hope it doesnt get a hold of you!

It's gray and misty today but I got out for a ride on the tri bike. Dropped the chain once (to the outside) so I need to tweak the adjustment. Overall, it felt good...and fast. Riding aero on a tri bike just feels better and more stable than riding aero on a road bike. Of course, that's why there are tri bikes! I have a lot to get used to with the shifting; I was cross-chained too often.

I took a few pictures, but with the gloomy light they are not great.

OH ! I went today to the meet/sign up etc for the womens triathlon in Vincennes.  They ran video of last year so we could see how it goes.  They had maps so we could see the route and ride it if we want too, I bought a  $10.00 sign that says "we support our Try Athlete) (athelete...... ugh

Had fun chats with the gals in charge and even recognised one of the girls who was in our tri here.  Turns out she is helping organize and set up for it. She is one that i showed around our YMCA so they would know where everything was. Pretty cool !

I stopped at the bike shop and talked to the guy who had fixed my bike. I gave him a flyer with contact info for the gals in charge of the tri, and told him if he wanted he could advertise with them, maybe be at the event in case of flat tires ...... etc....  I hope I have given him a good business opportunity....... he did a great job on my bike.  Plus if gals need help it would be nice to have the bike guy right there ready to help out !

Anyway, off to clean the van.......and then more packing ! sheesh!

It's been raining here yesterday and today, so I guess a good thing this is supposed to be an easy week for me.

Yesterday I swam a mile, and today I went jogging (jogged 10 mins total! yippee) and maybe will get on the trainer in a little bit.

Then roomie is taking me to the mall. Maybe I'll try in some new clothes. But I think if I wait another couple weeks then I will be in a smaller pant size, so it's a balancing act.

I had a nightmare last night about STBX ... didn't like that too much.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!!!!!

As for the age thing.....I love 47, because all the kids are at ages that don't require as much care, money isn't as huge an issure as when you are younger if you have been conservative, so if you want to go on a trip, cruise or do triathlons you can, and at 47 you don't worry as much about your flaws because you know really in the long run it doesn't matter...everyone is going to get old, you also find who you really are deep inside and find out you really like that person you have become, with age comes wisdom and that is "priceless!" Age is truly your state of mind, and that even makes you look younger than you are.... It is all about embracing yourself and loving they person you are inside and out!!!
