Dang girl - that is awesome!

I am trying to find a 70.3 in July of next year but like this year am having a hard time finding one within a reasonable drive. Muncie and Racine are both 12-hour drives each way for me. Of the ones I found online, Vineman sounds the funnest (helloooo wine country!) but that would involve flying me and my bike. We'll see... 

Sam:  An IM near Grand Rapids?  WOW!  Please, keep me posted.  I am SOOO excited for something out the back door from Holland !   ;-)

Wow!  My family and I arrived back in Alaska last night, and I am now here at work still relishing in the IM bliss.  I'm so happy to see all of you still posting on this board.  This board made this race even that more memorable.

Depending on where my life and career lead me will determine when and where I do my next IM.  I'm thinking Florida in 2013.  I have already decided that there will be no IM distance races in 2012.  Not because it was overwhelming, but because I anticipate a move back South--I hope my boss isn't secretly reading this board

Louisville will always hold a special place in my heart.  I couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect race for my inagural IM.  Heck, I've had more issues in short sprint triathlons than I did in Louisville.

By the way, who was wearing the BT kit out on the course?  I think I saw two different men with it on.  Very neat to see.

I've thought the same thing ever since I crossed the finish line!!  I'm seriously thinking of going back next year.  But I've had thoughts of doing a different race as well.  Decisions, decisions.....

Fesslern....U have no idea how hard I laughed when I saw this picture!!!! That is just plain awesome!!!!

I have noticed some peeps here are mentioning IM Cozumel and I just want to say that is an AMAZING race and destination!!! the race is incredible, the people in the island are amazing. I highly recommended it!! it is also a good treat for your other half and family.

If anyone needs any info on it let me know (hotels, etc). I was there for 7 days with family and they all want to go back! so I am planning on 2013 for sure ;-)

Hahaha...  IF (IF IF IF) I do another IM next year, it will either be IMKY or IMCOZ.  I'd prefer Cozumel based on everything I hear (and having done IMKY twice) but the travel and date is hard - my wife is a teacher and IMKY is SOOOOO much easier to get her to.

Having said that, I did Rev 3 Cedar Point full this past weekend and it was an UH-MAZE-ING race.  Really.  WAYYYY different than IMKY... soo much smaller... such a different course, but a really, really great race.

And Rev3 as a company was SO accommodating to me as a last minute sign up (4 days prior to race).

Alan- This is certainly not cheating. Research away.

AND...I would like to know more about Rev3 Cedar Point. I was thinking about this for 2013...if not MI Iron in Grand Rapids, MI.

I'll be working on my race report this afternoon and come back and let you know when it was up.  I'll try to be detailed moreso than typically since it is a race more people have not done or read about - versus something widespread like IMKY.

All this talk of next year and I'm still trying to get this year over with

I may try to get into IMAZ with a friend and if that doesn't work I think I will give IMKY another go.  The end of August is a better time frame for me, after September the wife goes back to teaching, the days are shorter and colder. IMWI would be good but it falls on a bad weekend.  Anything before July requires to much time on the trainer, no thank you

MI Iron sounds interesting, anything else in August that I'm missing??  IMCA sounds awesome but seemed like a logistic nightmare. 

Good for you, Gobey, for staying focused.  I don't have any advice for you in terms of late summer Iron distance races; but I wanted to stop in and wish you the best of luck.  I am confident you will redeem yourself in your next attempt.

As for me, I am going to either do Louisville again in 2013 or Florida in 2013--I like the idea of an ocean swim (Gulf to be exact).  The only hold up I have for Florida is that it is in November and I will miss a lot of college football on those long training weekends.

Ocean swim....yuk I deplore salt water  How about IMCOZ, the water will be warmer.  Break out the DVR and watch it as part of your recovery
