The knee feels ok right now... I can find where it hurts, but I really have to look for it.   I wouldn't even call it pain right now, but I can tell where the pain was earlier.  Honestly, I feel like I could stretch and run again, but I know it probably wouldn't go well if I did.  We'll see what happens Sunday, and on my ride tomorrow.

First group ride with the cycling team at school... Man, those kids are fast.  I'm a little shocked I managed to keep up at all.  My legs hate me quite a bit right now... wow.  No problems with the knee, which gives me hope for running tomorrow.  17.5 miles to goal, and I'm trying to decide the best way to divide it up.  I think splitting it into 5 runs of 3.5 miles each will work best for keeping my knee happy and getting me to goal.

6.28 miles in today.   Ran my normal morning route of 4.28 and then we did a 2 mile family run/walk for the Step-Out for Diabetes foundation.   My son's first event.   Was supposed to be a 1 mile event that we were doing, but we missed the first turn and ended up on the longer course.   Wasn't a problem although the trail we were on was definately not stroller friendly.   Great day either way and had never been to the state park where the event was held.   This was at the Spring Mountain Ranch in Las Vegas which I found out was one of Howard Hughes old residences.   After the run we got to tour his house which was an neat look back at the history.   Going to go back there soon and spend some more time sightseeing.

Quick note to everyone:

Check your mileage in the log & make sure it's right.  I just checked mine & I think someone might have logged their mileage for 9/13 on my line.  I only had 4 miles that day & 5 miles was logged - earlier it said 4 miles.

Just FYI.

As of this moment:  I need 7.72 miles to achieve my goal.

Even with the bum foot/ankle I'm sure I can make that in the next 10 days!  Which will still make September my biggest running month ever.  Good thing I didn't run a lot to begin with!!!  Innocent

Go team!

I got 12 in today. I wish I could log all the miles I put in walking today and last night pushing the stroller with a 40pd kid across 3 malls while the wife went dress and accessory shopping.

Just checked the spreadsheet and sent it off to Shawn.  As of yesterday, we were 67% of the way through the month and 72.71% of the way to our goals!!  Everyone is doing great and is right on track for meeting their goals.  That's really impressive!  Especially considering the people who are doing what they can with their injuries.

Great job everyone!!!

Well it seems I am lucky I have so much of my goal complete.

The last time I ran, Thursday, I stepped off the road for a split second and my foot rolled a bit. At the time it didnt hurt much, but since friday the outside of my ankle has been pretty tender. I am going to take most of this week off and see how it feels around Thursday again. Untill then happy running all.

13.1 completed this morning. My finish time was 3:16:47. I wanted to go under 3, but I slacked off quite a bit the last three miles.

And, why is everyone getting injured?? No more injuries!! :-)

For me - my injury is my own fault:  Bad shoes & inexperience.  The running shoe guy took my shoe & about tied it into a pretzel.  Poor mid-foot support.  I guess it didn't really matter until I increased my mileage.  Then...whamo!

I always learn the hard way.

Now I've got good shoes, approved by the physical therapist & running shoe guy.

So I was going to run last night, but I decided to work on my super snazzy race report. But, back in the saddle today. I figure 20 miles, 8 days, no problem.

We do have until the end of September right?

Good luck everyone!

3.46 miles today at lunch on the treadmill.   That puts me about 3 miles over my monthly target.   Will most likely get another 3 or 4 in Thursday, then a 10k for the race Sunday.    So, ideally I'll end up with around 53 miles for the month which would be 13 over the goal.

So, I took the last few days off to rest the foot/ankle & I think it's really paid off.  After 3x12-hour shifts on my feet, it doesn't hurt, only aches a little.

Tomorrow, after physical therapy I'm going to try an interval 2-mile run/walk.  I don't know how much of it will be running, but am pretty sure I can make the 2 miles.

I've only got about 7 to goal, & 7 days...here we go!  Got a 5k scheduled for this weekend.  I'll probably still do it, but definitely in interval format.  Can't afford to risk my very 1st tri on October 5th just for a 5k.

Sounds like everyone is on track.
