tricupcake - 2008-08-14 5:24 PM I went running this morning. Back in July (which was the last time I did any real training), I could only run 2 minutes at a time. Today I ran for a continuous 5 minutes and I didn't die! I switched to walking and then after about 5 minutes I did another 2 minutes of running!!! I was pretty proud of myself. I'm going to try and go for a bike ride after work, but I'm lacking any kind of energy these days, so we'll have to see how it goes.

great job on the run today tricupcake!

Why are you having a hard time with it? I always thought you were almost 100% mental.

Just in from the gym. Today I ran for...drum roll, please...7 continual minutes!!!! Granted, it was slow (around 4 mph), but 7 minutes?? Today was very mental for me. I put the towel over the treadmill readouts and told myself to just focus on the running. Pulled the towel off and was close to 5 minutes, so I was going to try for 6...then 7. My legs were starting to cramp a bit and I didn't want to overdo it, so I stopped at 7. Then for the rest of the run it was 2 walk and 2 run. Still slow, but, as in the words of Forest Gump...I WAS RUNNING!!!

Well Enders is back in form.  Joining the band wagon to pick on the poor old man I see...sigh.

Tricupcake:  That is awesome!!  By the end of summer you'll be running 30 minutes and go "Who me?".  Don't worry about speed unless you are going to the Olympics.  Speed is irrelevant, at least for now.  Compared to you I may seem fast,  but compared to Enders I am a snail,  but then again compared to my neighbor you are smokin fast.  I personally think you are doing great so "keep on truckin'".

I'm soooooo excited for your running!  I was in the same boat just a few months ago.  It is just the coolest thing when your body lets you go just a little bit longer each time.  Keep up the great work!  I know when I had good runs, it really motivated me to run more.

back in april I was in the same place with running.  I didn't have any scheduled running program going, I just ran whenever I got the motivation, which was like 2x a week.  A month ago I started running 3x a week and I can't believe how much I have improved this whole time...so keep it up, you're doing awesome!!

well back from camping, went fairly well had gobs o fun and ate no fried fish.
however i did forget a few key things, of course. first off left my meds at home, last night there i was feeling a bit lightheaded as if my BP was a bit high. plus i left my running shoes home and my speedometer for my bike i rode lots but have no idea how far 40 miles or so. swam a little bit not enough just a little.

two of the girls that were supposed to show did not which really pisses me off cause we were celebrating my daughters birthday and you could see the disapointment when her "best " friend stood her up. not the first time either. i wish my daughter could just see that this girl is just using her as a friend when it is convient for her. guess its just part of growing up.

so anyway my weight this morn is "GULP" 205. whaaaaa

Maybe Saling didn't, but I did.

And I comfort-ate to ease the pain of you being gone.

So by my math...you owe me a couple of lost pounds...'cause I'm sure not losing 'em now.
