Pro 4353 Wallingford, PA | Subject: RE: Team GALILEO: Stick to the Plan WEEK 3 CHALLENGE UPDATE Here are the current standings. Please note that the percentage for Team Edison includes some workouts entered for week 4, and I didn't have the time or energy to go back and calculate the actual percentage at the end of week 3. So... the Team Edison value is a bit of an over-estimate for end of week 3 - but - SHEESH!! What a bunch of OVERACHIEVERS! 1ST PLACE: Team Edison - 91.22% 2ND PLACE: Team Washington - 69.51% 3RD PLACE: Team Lincoln - 56.5% 4TH PLACE: Team Galileo One more week to go, everyone! Keep up the good work!!! |

Champion 14677 | Subject: RE: Team GALILEO: Stick to the Plan Ah team, I am sorry. What was I thinking with my goals. Look at the bike goal. There is no way I will get that. Even with out the two weeks of travel interruptions. I will get the swim and close on the run but the bike.. no way. I didn't get a chance to update the chart from this weekend, but still... You all are doing great. I hang my head in shame. |

Champion 7931 Sequim, Washington | Subject: RE: Team GALILEO: Stick to the Plan I had to go and be an overachiever/super worker and I lifted too much on Monday. Not any particular one rock, boulder, board, or tree...just way too many large lifts. I am experiencing a familiar sharp pain in my right glute. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a sciatic nerve issue and is related to the bulging disc I was dealing with last year. The important thing is that no one will ever doubt that I am a strong, hard worker. I am tired and feeling lazy and so this is copied right out of my log.Edited by mchally 2009-02-24 7:03 PM |

Nevertheless, the wave starts for my race this Sunday are up. 8:19 start That is what sucks about being a young male. They expect you to be the 'fastest' so you start last! Transistion closes at 6:30 so my water will be sitting in the sun for over 2 hours by the time I get to it. For the rest of this week I'm going to freeze my waterbottle overnight, and put it out in the sun at 6:30am, and see if it is still ok to drink at 9:00/9:30. If it isn't, I have no idea what I am going to do! |

I've never tried freezing the entire bottle but I have thrown a half dozen ice cubes in before and that seemed to keep things from overheating. You may want to try both methods and see what works best. |

I did races last year that went either way. I'm not sure which I liked better. On one hand, it was nice to be on the front and not have to worry about too much passing. On the other it was nice to have a lot of people in front of me and I always made it a challenge to catch the next person |

On the other it was nice to have a lot of people in front of me and I always made it a challenge to catch the next person In all but one of my races the waves started w/the statistically fastest groups going first. The one that differed was small. There were 2 waves...It was divided by age, the split was somewhere in the late 30s I believe. It started with a very, very long half mile swim (it was against the tide). |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Team GALILEO: Stick to the Plan i went out with the 'fast males' once i was on a team and doing the swim - for whatever reason they decided to have the team swimmers go out in the first wave so, there i was with all the 25- 29 year old males in an out and back route - YIKES! (seriously i was a little scared) pleased to say i came out in the first 1/3 of the swimmers i was bruised for days - you guys are rough! |

The swim leg appears to be a 50m out (heading east), 500m south, and 200m back in to shore. Hopefully the current will be going south. |
