Baowolf - 2009-12-11 1:59 PM Tim I didn't notice... you got 4th overall on that trail run recently.. nice and some solid finishes all year!

Thanks.  I was fortunate to stay on coarse.  The 17k portion was actually marked pretty well.  I feel for Roni though.  After reading her race report, she had the worst of it behind her when she made a wrong turn.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to getting back on the bike with some spinervals and my regular routine of swim, aqua aerobics and pilates next week. I am also going to check out a crossfit class next week.

losta - 2009-12-11 1:18 PM Another run in for me. Legs not so fresh after 5 consecutive run days of long for me runs. Have a good weekend Frosties!

5 days straight of any distance running is hard!  Be sure to listen to your body and take care of yourself.  Way to bring it, though!

Not sure exactly what I am ding today...it's supposed to be a cross-train day, but it is pouring and cold, so it looks like the roadie is going back on the trainer for the season. I'll repost back later.

Hope everyone else is having a better weather day than I am!

Weather is not much better here....  Warmer, but raining.  Honestly, not to disappointed about it.  I drank way toooo much at a Christmas party last night.  So for now, I'm just laying on the couch and watching old Christmas cartoons with my three boys.  Maybe latter I'll get out for my run.  Bike is out.

Hrm weather... well we have a nice ice base with a softer layer of snow on top of that with an ice crust on top of that and then some lighlt powder on top of that which will be getting a little sticky as the temp comes up around noon.  Should make for some interesting running for tomorrow's long.

Not sure how to chart making a snowman, sledding and having a snowball fight with the kids...

Rest day here, may go in the pool with the kids later.

Nice!  It doesn't get much better than that.  I know part of my motivation to exercise so hard is to keep up with my little ones.

Well, I made it out and got my 11 miles completed.  In all honesty, I really don't mind the rain when I run, but the headwinds just suck!  Once home, 10 minute ice bath followed by a hot shower.  Now, back to the Christmas movies and hot chocolates with the kids.

Please remember to update the spreadsheet by tomorrow evening.  I've taken the liberty to update the spreadsheet the best I could, but please verify.

We're currently at 33.5 percent goal completion with 39 percent of the month gone.  While my running is on pace, my swimming has slipped a little.  I'm sure things are only going to get tougher for all of us as the Holidays approach.

How's everyone else feeling?

Woke up this morning with a swollen and scratchy throat. Don't like when things come up fast like that, so I am canceling my run today and will probably restart tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

It's rainy cool and damp here in NY. But the trainer in the basement was hot and dry. I did Spinervals workout with Coach Troy.

Good day to bundle up and watch your Saints!  Take care of yourself.

By the way, I can't believe they almost let the Falcons beat them.

Oh my long run day for me 20 miles in 1-3 inches of snow average pace 8:30 mpm.  The temp dropped about 12 degrees while I was out there and though my temperature was ok for most of it, started to cool off the last mile or two and then by the time I got home I was shivering.  It took about 30-60 min to get back up to feeling comfortable.  It was a realy tough run with not great footing and then I was supposed to pick up the pace for the last 5 miles.  Well, I was able to keep it faster for 3 of the 5 last miles, but miles 18 and 19 were  much slower.  Just glad to have that one done, phwa.

That puts me at 86.5 miles run for the month and I caught the spreadsheet up, though thanks for updating this morning Tim.  Is good to be warm again.

Hi Frosties! I just got back home and back to my computer. I went to Portland to do some Christmas shopping, and they shut down the highway back due to freezing rain so I was stuck there for the weekend. Sorry about the low percentage I have so far, but my core sessions are coming along nicely. I won't have any trouble making them by the end of the month. My weight loss goal I should hit too, but I only weigh once a week and last week was messed up because of the race. Hopefully, next week I'll have a significant drop   I'm off to catch up on what you all have been up to now!

I still run outside in the dark. I use a good head lamp and reflective clothing.

brick94513 - 2009-12-09 1:34 PM Oh, btw, a little milestone for me today too:  first ride ever on a tri bike.  I was a little unsteady at first, but caught on.  Rode in and out of aero position only for a short amount of time.

To this point, all my experience-mileage has been on mountain bikes.  This year was my first doing Xterra triathlons.  While I still plan to do Xterra and endurance mountain bike races, I wanted to make the transition to traditional triathlons so I can do the longer distances (HIM,IM).

Congrats! They do feel pretty weird when all you've ridden is mountain bikes. I still remember the first time I rode mine. It felt really squirrely, but it didn't take too long to get used to it.

It's ok... I'm feeling much better now both mentally and physically. I learned a lot out there and besides the getting lost part had a good day. I'm ready to start focusing on my next goal... Ironman. There will be no getting lost on that one, though I might want too
