I'm at 22.5/50 or 45% of my goal. It ain't much...but, its actually more then i have put in any one month. Similar to what has been said here, and same for the swim challenge, its giving me a sense of consistency. I can't run for 2 months, so biking and swimming will be my two focuses.

I've been training scarcely and inconsistently and going to the races and getting through. These challenges are helping me a great deal see the physical and emotional benefits to consistency.

Thank you to all who set these up and see them through....

(and for the chris issue....oy-vay...its SOOO not an issue for me!!)

Sorry to be pulling the Gear Goddesses down - I'm way too close to the bottom of that list

I had a race yesterday and tapered last week, so my bike mileage suffered.  Good news is I put in 8.5 miles on Saturday as a warmup, and 17.2 miles during the race yesterday, so I'm close to 50% (I know, not great, but better than 37%!!).  I'll be out of town the end of this week, so I'm going to put in some mileage tonight and tomorrow, then ride long on Sunday.  I may not quite make my goal this month, but I'm going to try really hard!!

Well, I put in 3 medium-long rides over the weekend (getting used to the toe clips), and I'm at 84% (just over 30 to go)! Whoooooooo!

And I also had my first fall (stopped for a snack and tipped to the side I was still strapped in to). Thunk! Makes me scared of the clipless, which I'm upgrading to soon.

Fellow Goddesses...

I  NEED YOU GUYS TO KICK MY ASS ON TO THE BIKE NOW!

My motivation is in the toilet.... I keep sleeping in.  If I don't get up at 5am and ride it's just too freakin' hot!  Waaaa... waaaaa... whine... complain.....

I still have 148 miles to get to my goal of 350!  I know I can do it, there is still time, if I can just get my ass out of bed in the morning.  I don't want those Boners to win!  HELP!

How's this for motivation... Motivated (Captain Perv) would like to spank your cute bottom. If you don't get on your bike and ride, he will be doing just that (figuratively speaking)  while singing his cupcake song at the end of this month.

Still need us to kick your ass out of bed?

vmr719 - 2005-06-20 10:53 AM I posted last night, but I am at 204/307: 66.4%. I am riding this week and long again this weekend, so I will hit past 307 without a blink. If I hadn't been sick for a week, I'd def be hitting past 400!

Way to go! That’s terrific!!

Nikki, don’t discount yourself. That is terrific! It’s not about raw mileage – it’s about hitting your goal!

Whatever it takes, Sarah.

Anything to avoid hearing his booty shake song and a reference to our heineys in the same breath from Captain Perv. Just ask KimJ - she'll tell you allll about his pervy ways.

He thinks they've already won. Guess he didn't learn anything from the Swim Challenge.

But, we are clearly not doing enough trash talking over on the Gear Goddesses thread.  I want to see you guys over there antagonizing those struggling cupcakes.  Remember, we've got two major losses to avenge.

I think we have the 'bones right where we want 'em. Wimpering about goals, and then when our Fearless Leader shows compassion, the trash talk resumes.

I don't know about y'all, but I'm now determined exceed my goal miles. By as many as I can. My goal is 280 miles, more than I've ever ridden in a month, but I find myself driven to make up for being called incompassionate/thoughtless/whatever. Do you really think that any of the guys would be bothered by being labeled "uncharitable?" No. They're playing us. Ladies, it is now time to "woman up." Get out there and ride.

ETA: La Rascullain (sp), I've got your back and I'll do as many of your miles as I can. Just take care of yourself.

Definitely.  Watch, in the final week they'll be requesting exemptions for ingrown toenails and blisters.

Keep riding ladies!  Every mile counts!  If you have to, break long rides up into a bunch of smaller rides.  You'll be amazed at how it all adds up!

Girls - Just checking in.......was at 144/400 miles, rode 45 on Saturday to put me at 189. Was supposed to ride 50 on Sunday, but we drove to Aspen to buy a road bike for my 8 year old daughter - YEAH! She is so excited. So instead of a rest day today, am heading out for 50 miles tonight which will put me at 239 or 59%...........

Go, Grodi Jo, Go! And Renee, our Fearless Leader, we have an injured teammate. I'll vehemently object to any request to withdraw her miles from the competiton, if you're thinking about heading that way.

I'm contributing, win or lose, but I object to equivocating. Blame the military in me. We win or lose sans excuses. Ride, ladies, ride!

I'm with Lynda...I'm doing a little tapering this week  but will HAPPILY pick up extra miles the last few days of this month barring catastrophes and job offers.

NO EXCUSES.

Besides I don't know what I dislike more...Motivated thinking about spanking our bottoms or being called a CUPCAKE!  We'll see whose frosting gets licked

Grrr...I was in the driveway ready for my first ride to work...get on my bike...front tire is flat. Pump it up, but know in my heart, there must be something wrong...I just rode on Sunday. Sadly park my red Softride in the basement and go change my clothes. That is 25 miles I was counting on Goddesses....have 3  12 mile rides planned...two sprints and a practice ride of one of the sprints. I was to have a 2.5 hours ride this weekend, but with the sprint that is off....between today and the weekend I'm down....some 40-50 miles.

3x12=36 miles plus a ride tonight for maybe 15-16...equals 52. I will need another ride between the sprints. Instead of going way over the top...it looks like I'll just be making my mileage.

Frustrated...but I'll make it.

Lynda, not to worry. We are on the same page. Everyone knows women are much tougher than boys men. We know the true meaning of TEAMWORK.

Let's go, Goddesses! We've got to pick up the slack for the injured and struggling! Get in those extra little rides while you can.

Nine days and counting 'til the final tally.
