Okay, bad choice for the balloon...didn't even notice the heart.  But see, how we, the mighty hearts, hold the poor sad little hugs and kisses to our bosom in order to protect them?

On a more serious note - I got a my new used Garmin 305 today.  I'm so excited to try it out!!

Hi everyone.  Sorry to see the eastern seaboard getting pounded by another snowstorm.   I got out for a run this morning and hit the gym later for some weights and a short swim.   It started snowing while I was in the health club and it is supposed to continue until tomorrow morning.   I'll be on the bike (trainer) tomorrow and ideally would like to get out for a short run.   Hang in there hearts.

Morning Hearts.  Will be running at lunch today.  I usually swim before class, but we'll see how that goes.

Sadness!  My friend who's lending me his trainer wants it back already!  When he originally let me borrow it, I asked him when he wanted it back, and he was very vague about it and said he wasn't planning on riding until the spring... so I figured he'd let me borrow it at least a month so I could get used to it.  Or at least give me longer notice before having to give it back.  But I'll have to give it back to him probably this weekend.

So I'm not sure where that'll leave me with my LOVE challenge.  I'm definitely going to buy my own, but I thought I'd have a little more time to get used to his trainer to figure out what features I like/don't like and go from there.  I'll probably order one in the next few days, but I don't like feeling rushed into a big purchase Undecided   I'll try to get as much riding in before I have to give it back, or maybe I can ask him to let me keep it until I order a new one and it comes in.

Yogachic - well, that sux!  Coax another week out of him.

I did my LOVE run at lunch. Logged another 2.5 miles of ouchy, hard, mogel-like, hard, snowy trail.  P!ss, whine, moan.  Okay, I'm done.  Other than that slowing me down, it was a great run.

I did another bike ride on the trainer today (yoga yesterday). I've shoveled my way out from under this last storm and I REALLY hope the pool is open tomorrow. I needs me some swim!

Fingers crossed for ya, Nicole.

The Garmin rocks!  Other than the fact that Big Brother knows exactly where I am! (okay, I have a weird conspiracy thing going one.  The only identifying information in the thing is my b-day.  How many women in my city would share my exact birthday, though...hmm?)  Medication taken, clam restored.

I'm really going to make great use of this tool.  Not sure how it will measure bike cadence, since I don't have a foot pod, but it'll track distance and MPH so that's good enough for me at my stage of training.

I don't do cadence on my Garmin either.  My bike computer does cadence so that's good enough.

I had (well, still have) a FR 305 and now use a 310XT. I've got the cadence sensor on two of my bikes; love them!

Since you've got that conspiracy thing going, you should keep the data from your rides/runs private, especially if you start or end at your home. You don't want people know when and where you regularly workout.

I just got a Garmin 305 for Christmas, and I love it!  No more worrying about whether I planned my route well enough or if I'm doing the run amount of mileage.  And I recently installed the cadence sensor on my bike, and it's been very helpful. . . At least in giving me something to watch while on the trainer Wink

Speaking of the trainer. . . I kind of panicked and ended up ordering one today Surprised  I was going to buy one anyway, but I just didn't want to be without a trainer for too long.  Hopefully it comes in before my friend picks his up from me!

I went with the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine.  I've only heard good things about it, and I got a pretty good deal at bicycleoutfittersindy.com because I found a coupon code online for 20% off!  I bought a riser ring & bike thong (hehe) as well, and it still came out to less than the list price for the trainer by itself!

The KK has a very good reputation, probably a very good choice.

Another 3 miles in the books today.  I did a bike yesterday, and if I get my self together in the morning, I will swim before work.  I will get in some more LOVE miles this weekend!

Congrats on the new trainer, Yogachic!  Did you talk him into letting you keep his trainer until yours comes?

And congrats on the Garmin, Cindy.  Enjoy it!  It sounds like it makes training a lot easier to track and plan.  I don't have that fancy of a watch yet.  I just use mapmyrun and a sports watch.  Maybe someday but there's too many basics I still need.  Like a road bike!  LOL

Tracy, glad you are feeling better!  Did you ditch the inhaler?

Hi Hearts. Got in a short run and then put in 40 minutes on the trainer. I had a really cold headwind in my face for the first half of the run that was really tough to run into, but it gave me a nice push on the way home. Have a great Friday everyone.

Not my best swim!

But it felt great to be back in the water!
