Shoeless - 2010-06-14 9:28 PM Well, this man was going to be my BIL. I am so sad for my sister. We only got to spend time with him once, but we have that as a wonderful memory. The funeral is Friday: Alan Eichelberger

Oh my goodness!  I'm so sorry for your sister and your family.  My condolences.  (I used to live near Hansen.)

going to start running again today for the first time in a while.

swimming will likely have to wait till next week as the shoulder is still bothering me.  If it doesn't get better by this weekend, I suppose I'll need to see a doctor

It actually went quite well.  I did a mile less than normal, and a little slower than normal just to ease back into things, but felt normal.

Thank you for the warm thoughts. I'll be traveling Thursday and Friday. I'm going to bring my bike. I thought it would be nice to take a ride in a new place.

Got 20 miles on the bike tonight; 8 of them in the rain.

I took my bike for a tuneup because the shifting has been flaky but they said everything was good. I did a short training ride this morning to check it out; it's shifting smoother but I still had a troublesome glitch :(

I'm continuing to ride my bike to work every day (it's been almost 2 whole weeks!) and today I just found out that it's Bike to Work Week!  Apparently there are tents at various locations in the area and they give out free coffee and breakfast to bike commuters.  I didn't even know such a thing existed!  Darn, I've already missed 3 days of free breakfasts, but I'll definitely be sure to stop by a tent tomorrow and Friday.

billsorg - 2010-06-13 11:24 AM Jacqueline... just noticed you're doing the Philly Tri (Oly)... ME 2!
Yup, it will be my first oly.  I'm a little nervous, because I did the sprint last year and there were some seriously aggressive and rude people on the bike course.  Men were cursing and screaming at each other--City of Brotherly Love, my a$$.

I think you'll find the Olympic course much more "brotherly". Wink  You will get a lot of inexperienced racers in the Philly Sprint Tri (I did that one 2 years ago).  But the Olympic race seemed much more cordial and professional.  You'll also find that the swim is much easier on the Oly course since you swim straight downstream with the current as opposed to a loop in the Sprint race.  When the race gets closer, I'll let you know my # so maybe we can say HI.

LOL, I am an inexperienced racer--this will by my first oly.  I'm just glad I'll be wearing a helmet in case they start throwing rocks or something.

Thanks for the offer to say , "Hello."  I never know anyone who does the Philly races, so I just mill around in transition getting nervous.

Hi Team 3.  Looks like there's been alot going on in the last few pages.  I've been totally slacking the last 2 weeks.  I knew it was coming, so I set my goals for the month accordingly.  Rode a metric century this weekend.  No RR, but the depressing story of it is in my blog from Satruday.  The wound is still a little fresh.

Managed to get a short ride in yesterday.  Rode by myself and really enjoyed the quiet time.

Hope everyone has a good day!

One more day of work, the off on vacation for a week.

I've been having a fairly inactive week too!  I've only had 1 day this week where I had any formal workouts (the other days I've just been bike commuting).  I'm starting to feel like a slug!
