I'm stuck in bed or in a chair w/my foot elevated and iced for the weekend and I get to go shoe shopping at a medical supply store on Monday  I broke my big toe.  

The upside: they gave me some vicoden.

Thanks Yanti melon presses and cuddles help considerably.  I'm just bummed 'cause I've actually been seeing some improvement in my running and now I will be sidelined, again.

Of course you can have some vicoden we'll have a wonderful little party.

Yep looks like I am going to be rather pruny in the near future.  I figure I can swim and I can aqua jog, I'm not to sure about biking but we will see.

Vicoden and melon sandwiches now that should be a fantastic party.

I kind of like Pitt's version about too vigorous with the restraints better.  It sounds so much more "exciting" than the real version.

I was going into the store, in a rainstorm, to buy some water.  I stepped up onto the curb and slipped on the stripe of yellow paint on the edge of the curb.  In the ensuing balancing act I slammed the big toe of my other foot into the curb.  I was wearing my vibram shoes so not much protection there but I thought I just stubbed it really bad.  It really hurt all night and when I got up my toe had turned black, blue and purple to the first knuckle.  I had a appt. w/the chiropractor for my ankle and she took one look at the toe and said "you need to get that x-rayed", so I went to the local urgent care center.  They x-rayed it and sure enough I broke the end of the bone.  Luckily the fracture is not displaced so it should heal on it's own but it means I'm sidelined for 4 weeks at least.
