I wonder if you can have that traced, call the company, and give them the business!

The stupid part about the whole thing is that the voicemail system will catch the fax, but the only option i have at that point is to bounce it to an actual fax machine here at work. There's nothing built in, yet, to give us pdfs of the faxes... lame.

Yeah our phones hang up on fax machines I think. We all have fax numbers that go straight to our e-mail.

Our voicemail system is half cool. You can set it up to email you mp3s of your messages. That's great for when you're traveling.

I have completely lost all of my motivation today.  I really hate the politics and money game in science.

Basically, I should find a new adviser because mine probably won't be here long enough for me to finish.  I'm working with another lab right now, but I have to convince one of those docs to take me and support me.  It's very frustrating.

Yuck. That would suck. i'm sorry.

One of my friends just got his phd (unrelated field at a different school), and his adviser left academia altogether about two years before my friend finished his program. He was allowed to continue working with his adviser. Is something like that going to be an option?

Possibly, but you never really know.  I'm working really closely with another lab, so if they'll take me as a student it makes my future a lot more secure.  Then I don't have to try to replace an adviser, just a committee member, which is a lot easier.

Yeah... i'm sorry you have to deal with that. Grad school apparently isn't stressful enough as is.

Random thought: I was running along Lake Michigan last night and had an urge to just jump in off the pier even though I know it's freezing cold. I really miss swimming in open water.

I think it will work out ok, it's stressful and hard to have motivation when there's so much up in the air.  At least there's vanilla vodka in my freezer.

Nah. I'd swim out of it if I ever did it. I'd survive. I'm indestructible.

Right.  Remember how cold it was at Accenture.  Subtract a few degrees for now.

It's a good thing I live so far away from the nearest bar. It's the ONLY thing keeping me from going to happy hour tonite.

Yeah. I have one on the first floor of my condo. I'd say it sucks, but really it doesn't.
