The stupid part about the whole thing is that the voicemail system will catch the fax, but the only option i have at that point is to bounce it to an actual fax machine here at work. There's nothing built in, yet, to give us pdfs of the faxes... lame. |

Our voicemail system is half cool. You can set it up to email you mp3s of your messages. That's great for when you're traveling. |

One of my friends just got his phd (unrelated field at a different school), and his adviser left academia altogether about two years before my friend finished his program. He was allowed to continue working with his adviser. Is something like that going to be an option? |

I'm working really closely with another lab, so if they'll take me as a student it makes my future a lot more secure. Then I don't have to try to replace an adviser, just a committee member, which is a lot easier. |
