One of my friends just got his phd (unrelated field at a different school), and his adviser left academia altogether about two years before my friend finished his program. He was allowed to continue working with his adviser. Is something like that going to be an option? Possibly, but you never really know. I'm working really closely with another lab, so if they'll take me as a student it makes my future a lot more secure. Then I don't have to try to replace an adviser, just a committee member, which is a lot easier. |
