baby bike

Good job on the workout and STOP THE CUTE!

When I move in next door, and many of your belongings (including, possibly, a cat) magically migrate to my place, can the kid come too? Thanks.

Team USA Age-Up Rule
At 2013Nationals, athletes will race in their appropriate age groups based on their age as of December 31, 2013. Awards will be issued based on those results. If an athlete "ages up" into another age group in 2014, a separate set of results will be issued accounting for those athletes who aged up and Team USA slots will be awarded based on these results. So their finish time will be compared to those athletes in the older age group. For example, if John Doe is going to be 49 years old by December 31, 2013, he will age-up up into the 50-54 age group for the 2014 World Championships since he will be 50 years old by December 31, 2014. Thus, for Team USA qualifying purposes, his time at the qualification event will be compared to the men currently in the 50-54 age group. We will post the age-up results at the awards ceremony.

Correct.

Stop reading after the highlighted section.  How old will you be on December 31?  That's your USAT age.

I'm a Christmas baby.  I'm always racing older than my actual age.

Well, I will be racing @ my age but competing for a qual spot with the 30-34, right?

Holy shyte, qualifying for Worlds will be based on your performance in the 30-34 age group? I better step up your training plan pronto

I was surprised to find out that they had slower times than the 24-29. Probably because they have moved up in distances I am guessing?

No.  Your age group is also based on your age on December 31.

3.2 Age Group Competition.

a. All age group athletes must participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete’s age on December 31 of the year of the event.

Yes, the year of the event is 2013, I am 29 right now, in 2013.

Now Qual is for the year of the event I am trying to Qual for, 2014.

I should clarify, when  you race at Nationals, in 2013 you are vying for a qual spot for worlds, 2014. At least that is how I understand it. Am I wrong?

C'mon, it's basic math

The late 20s still have killer speed. Once you get into long course, you start seeing the 30s and now even 40s being more competitive because a) they have enough money to have both time and means to do long course, b) much larger base and experience, which evens out the speed factor.

Speaking of which, were you able to watch any of the Pre Classic? Holy shyte, Mary Cain at 17 taking her place on the world stage ... and many other amazing events and some surprises.

Totally what I was thinking. Although I can't see myself ever caving to the long course Smile

YUP, watched the Pre classic of course!!! BTW, she's racing the 5K on the 8th I believe. Gonna be incredible to watch. Of course, I have a distance bias

Yanti, I am an idiot, can you please send me my swim for tonight? I know it starts with something ridiculous like 20 x 50 just for a warm up.

Additionally, in my little world I have some various news.

1. Unfortunately we lost our friend to ALS yesterday. We will now be doing the bike ride in July in her memory, unlike the years before.

2. I will be racing as Blanche from the Golden girls tomorrow, in her debut 1000 meter

3. I will be competing in the Milk Mile (glass of milk every quarter) July 14th.

4. I can hardly walk today from yesterdays workout.

P.S. I'm also busy because I'm a mod in, I kid you not, THREE other forums.

P.P.S. I'm also STILL trying to find a 2nd caretaker for Mutti ... WTF, in a 3rd world country with nearly as many people as the U.S., nobody wants a job?!

I've sent out over 200 inquiries to folks specifically advertising/seeking a housekeeper/nanny position. Of those, about 20 have replied (mostly out of politeness, in the negative). 2 have interviewed; we offered both of them the position and both declined.

And yes, they understood they'd be SHARING duties with another caretaker, in a house that will have EIGHT total staff for one little old lady, and sometimes me or my sister.

Things are also about to go postal in Bali with the Bali Marathon, Bali Triathlon, and Bali Ocean Swim all coming up in the next four weeks. Heavily involved with all three.

P.P.P.S. I ate everything in my room, which is a half-pound bag of pistachios and half a banana left over from my long ride today (over 12 hours ago, it was pretty gross) ... and I'm still hungry.

You know how sometimes people use a phrase that sticks with you?  Like "Fachmie, it's Whopper time?"

Ann-Marie has one that make me smile every time that she uses it, "all powdered and puffed for work."

When I see that I think of an agility friend of mine who used to always say that it was time to "hunt and gather" which means go grocery shopping ;-)  Dudley had a few others but that was my favorite.

I think I was smoking crack when I wrote this. You should do it anyway.

S3: Endurance + consistent mental focus

WU: 20x50 @1:00 (or interval = moderate effort but only ~:05R)

MS1: 3x200 free @4:20 (snerk) with FOUR butterfly kicks off each wall streamline before swim

MS2: 4 rounds – 25 back swim / 25 back kick @1:30, 100 free @2:10

1. I am really, really sorry. I know how much you, and she, wanted to be able to do that last ride ... heavy memories. So painful to lose a loved one, so early in life.

2. Blanche was my favorite I love the names Blanche, Bianca, Blanca ...

3. I could do a Milk Mile! I still say you and I should do that eating triathlon (in addition to our Full Contact Coconut Aquatri)

4. Good.

Woo hoo!  The parts came in and you got to use the trailer!

They did! To be fair, I could have ridden before, but these are what they advise using with a carbon frame.  Didn't really want to take any risks with the new bike.

Good job on the workout and STOP THE CUTE!

When I move in next door, and many of your belongings (including, possibly, a cat) magically migrate to my place, can the kid come too? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure I'll have no choice in the matter.  Cats, babies, and probably my husband will all be drawn to you no matter what I say.

3. I will be competing in the Milk Mile (glass of milk every quarter) July 14th.

4. I can hardly walk today from yesterdays workout.

1. I am so sorry for your loss.

2. That's an awesome costume.

3. That sounds disgusting.

4. I feel the same way.

With all of the hateful hover over things in the new BT, I do kinda wish there was one that would "translate" minute per km and kph for me!  The rest of them can go away though!

1. Sorry for your loss. Earlier today I was speaking with a woman who mentioned that 7 people from her high school graduating class had died from ALS. WTF? I thought it was such a rare disease how can this be?2. Wonder how you got selected to be Blanche? Weird.3. That is so disgusting.4. I feel ya.

Glad I can give you a little smile now and again.

Ooh, I'd like that translation too. I've kinda gotten use to the new site and although I agree with some of the complaints, overall I'm ok with it.
