well wish me luck. my vacation started yesterday and we are heading to the coast tommorrow again for a few days. camping this time no comphy motel . i will do my best to stay away from the fried fish. and we are taking the new pooch with us, he is a great running partner. the previous owner was a cop and she ran with him 4 miles every day.we ran 1/2 mile today and he wasnt even outta breath. first run in months by the way. maybe he will guilt me into running.

i will miss wednesdays weigh in but will post on thurs. take care all.

I will see if I am a runner next week.  Knee feeling better every day and a very short bike yesterday didn't seem to hurt so I will try a little more today.

Ya'll would be proud of me:  I ate a half cup of green beans yesterday.  Whew...got my monthly allotment out of the way.

Today is Tuesday so don't forget weigh in is sometime in the next few days (WED).

Was just thinking of Comet going on vacation to gain a few pounds and got to thinking (always dangerous):  Vacation what a wonderful idea....Last time my wife and I left home was I believe 2001 for 2 days in Laughlin, NV and I left home for 36 hours for class reunion in 2004 in Newport Beach CA..  Combined we have only been away for 3 1/2 days.  I think we need a vacation.

Dude. You need a vacation.

We're headed to the beach this weekend (hubby has a meeting down there Thursday and Friday, we're joining him Friday night through the weekend), then hubby and I have our every-other-year-away-from-the-girls vacation in July (we tour wineries, of course).

I think my scale and I are breaking up. He plays this game with me every week and I'm tired of it. I do admit that I've been a little obsessive in the past couple of days with the number on the scale. It's a weakness I have. But yesterday morning the number was 222. Yesterday, after my LONGEST bike ride ever (60 minutes), I got on and it was at 219.5. This morning I was at 218...a new all time low. Why all the games? Why can't I get that number when it counts? So, he's got one last chance to make it up to me. If I'm below 220 tomorrow morning, he can stick around. Otherwise, I'm going to have to pull out the sledgehammer.

Your scale and mine must be related....mine tells me a pretty accurate weight...its the BF that is always changing...I think that has more to do with my hydration level...so I have started taking a weekly average.

I play games with my scale the other way (although it may explain your yesterday weights)...I always weigh 1st thing in the morning (after peeing, of course). But if I go out for a run before breakfast and then weigh in again, I can drop another pound or 2...just within 45 minutes. It's all about the hydration at that point (like runningwoof said). So I purposely weigh, then run, then weigh, just to get the lower number. I'm kinda silly that way.

My scale only lies on Wednesday mornings before weigh-ins.

Yesterday I was hungry ALL day! I wanted ice cream and even though I had some in the fridge, I had yogurt instead. Not quite as emotionally satisfying, but it definitely did the trick physically. And today I passed up free pizza here at work to go to Subway. Not too bad for me

Good choices! Have your tried greek yogurt (0% fat) with sliced fruit???

Alright, I have to go take a nap, I got about 4 hrs of sleep last night trying like hell to finish up this qtr (school). I think I still made the deans list but not a 4.0 (grades--A, B). Then I had to get up at 5:30 am and meet a delivery guy who was dropping off lumber for the second half of the project my dad and I are working on (deck, about 2 tons of it). My eyes are burning right now, and I'm getting pretty hungry though my next scheduled meal isn't for another 1.5 hrs. Then later tonight I go back to building the deck as working in the middle of the heat just sucks and zaps more energy, which could be more efficiently used. So off I go...

Accountability

Breakfast: 1/4 cp cereal (Kellog's Protein Plus)
1/2 cup Milk (2%)

Snack: Banana, and handful of almonds
20 oz. Water

Lunch is coming up, probably do a Protein shake, and some Fat Free Greek yogurt with sliced strawberries... I don't know, we'll see.

Lunch went as planned, had some almonds and 30 oz water for another snack.

dinner was just salad and a coke, then I crashed till 8:30 am this morning, guess I needed the 13 hrs of sleep...

Welcome Runningwoolf- you definitely chose the bestest Team ever but you probably know that already

Some of you might have a vague recollection of my disastrous attempt to join Limerick Tri Club (my local one), well it didn't happen so I decided to try Nenagh club (40mins drive) and having first swimming workout tomorrow. Now the whole point of me saying all this is that something very nice happened today. When enquiring about possibly joining the club I was talking to Joe and got a message from him today telling me about a Sprint race in July and that he told the lads I'll be coming tomorrow for the first time. He also asked me to let him know how I got on. I think it was very nice nice of him. Can't wait till tomorrow- that club might be a good place to get back to my routine (and shape) especially with my first tri being 3 months away.

Definately glad that you're in better spirits now, take this opportunity and run with it (yes, literally!)

Josh,  To GAIN 4 pound in a day you would have to eat approx. 16000 calories in a day.  Good luck with that and let me know how it goes.  It would be about 3 gallons of chocolate chop ice cream.

Pshaw. I believe last week I did eat 16000 calories in a day.

You got that right!!!. So this morning back to 188 or so, I don't know what was going on...

Yeah I weigh in first thing when I get up (do the peeing thing) then weigh, take a shower (then weigh one more time) and take the average... My scale gives me a different .____ weight everytime so...

It's a well-known fact that scales are cruel.

Josh - there's no way you gain 4 actual pounds.

Runningwoof - welcome to our crazy crowd...

Saling - You can deny all you want but WE know the truth.

38 - Some people do get sick with the waves, try the earplugs, or take some motion sickness stuff.  I like Bonine myself.

This week is going well for me, enjoying the higher level of calories and actually getting in some decent workouts.

We'll see if I have to have words with my scale tomorrow...

I agree that scales have a conspiracy going on for sure.  One day 149 next 152.2 WTF!!  Oh well my pants still fit so I don't worry too much.

Lets see accountability not all that good but here goes:

4 to 9 am:  2 cups coffee

10 am:  Baby ruth...mmm

1 pm:  2 slices of bread and 1 slice beef bologna

So far about 40 oz of water

3 PM:  cup of coffee and I KNOW another cup of coffee is coming up.

No, I do not use splenda or sugar or cream

283 calories so far.  I better start cutting back a bit.

Back home from my first swimming workout with Nenagh Tri Club- that was amazing!!! Altogether we did about 2,5km and it took me (and 2 other lads) 1,5hours. Why? Well, it was a proper swimming training with different sets eg. just for hands, for one hand at a time, just for legs etc. And people there seem to be really friendly- whenever I was taking a break they would ask if I'm ok. Of course I was the slowest but it didn't bother me that much- it's a challenge, a positive one. Also at the end I was told by a lifeguard, who was also doing private swimming lessons, that I'm a good swimmer. Feeling really good about it and about myself. Next swimming is on Thursday and then running session on Friday. That's all for now- time to bed. Have a good Wednesday!

Glad to hear it went so well Ceade.  See some of of us Tri people are nice.  Kind of nice that some one else noticed that you swim well.

Enders-  I guarantee that by tomorrow I will weigh more than the 152.2 I weighed this AM and I will be confused considering what I have eaten today.  Dinner is still to come,  but it can't be THAT much.

WHOO WHOO - not a bad eating day... under 2000 calories, good amount of protein, and I got in a couple of good workouts...

Let's see if I can keep this up. I may not hit 136 in June, but I would like to see the sunny-side of 140.
