so what are we going to do this november? - LOL

Same thing we do every November, Pinky.

Lol - nice reference...

does that mean Nibbs is taking over BT?

We must have the same taste in TV, Cat.  Because I busted out laughing a your wHierd reference earlier.

Nice... hoped someone would get it!

Ok, that really is me leaving.  I actually am going to shave my legs, then I'm gonna try and get some sleep so I can ride in the morning.  Substituting the bike for the swim, cuz you know... numb arm and all.  Figure it's probably a good idea.

Now I have to work a couple hours before my hair appointment.

And then next week is VACATION!

kns57 - 2008-07-24 2:32 PM Quiet day on Nibbs! Everyone must have to actually get some work done today. LOL

Yeah  The paper is piling up faster than I can get rid of it.

I did get to go swim at lunch, but it went terribly.

how come?

My left arm went numb from my thumb to my amrpit.  Not like the whole arm, but all of my left thumb (right down to the tip of it), then almost like a line running under my arm to the back of the elbow, then up the triceps, and sort of stopping right about armpit level.  I have no idea what was going on.  I've never had any problems in the water.  Anyway, I cut out half the swim and just went back to the office.

Hope it's not something serious Bill.  Should probably go get that checked out...

When's the last time you had a checkup?  If you're anything like me, it's probably been over 2 years...

So Nibbs.....I have a question for my longer distance veteran friends......

How did you plan nutrition calorie wise for race day.  I have come close to bonking in both sprints this year, the first one was more a dizziness mid swim with some hunger where I grabbed the Optimum bar on the way out of T1.  Last weekend, if it hadn't been for the forethought to pack Heed I would have wound up DNF'ing because I was that physically shaky going oit on the bike course.  I'll be staying in a hotel the night before the oly so I need to plan accordingly fo breakfast....

Hey Judi!  These nutrition strategies have worked pretty well for me:

I eat a lot of cereal the night before. It does 2 things:

a) the fiber makes me poop in the morning, so I don't have to deal with that issue during the race... I go usually within 15 minutes of getting up

b) the calories and energy seem to carry over to the race. if I eat too much before the race I'll either a) have to go the bathroom a lot b) it crowds my lungs and breathing deeply is hard.

Umm...my favorite pre-race food in an Egg McMuffin, 3 hours before the race...
