You could come join us at the first (shameless plug) Tuesday Night Timetrial over in Medina.  According to the Interwebs, the chance of precipitation will be down to 30% by then, but I'll still bring my flippers and snorkel just in case.

I'd pay to watch someone bike in flippers and a snorkel. I've sent up a request for the ran to stop so we can all have our fun outside tonight. No guarantees though.

This weather is putting a damper on my outdoor training. Indoor it is for me during the week. The rain is so cold, would not mind if it was warm rain.

I was reminded last night that running in a little rain isn't so bad!  Wearing a hat with a visor makes a big difference, as does finding a route with lots of shelter.  I think the trick is stepping out of your house/car and start running immediately, no dallying.  Pretty quickly I am happy for the coolness the rain provides

Today I had to switch my morning swim and afternoon run.  Yep, I ran at 4am in the dark in the country.  Kind of scary.  I used to run in the dark mornings when I lived in a suburban neighborhood in Maryland.  That should have been way scarier, but I was constantly on the lookout for critters today.  At least I didn't have to run on a treadmill.

I was a wimp and ran on the dreadmill last night.  Looks like we might see improvement by the weekend!

Laughing  I was also cooking dinner, so had to pause the treadmill and run upstairs a few times to stir and add ingredients and adjust temperatures.  Gave me a good excuse to stay in!

Was out for a run last night, got caught in a brief thunderstorm and saw lightning strike a power line ~200yd from me.  It blew up a transformer and everything.

I sprinted to a nearby picnic shelter (complete with lightning rod) and cowered under there until the worst of it passed.

I'm normally of the HTFU and get out there school of thought, but I'll draw the line somewhere short of getting risking being struck by lightning.

Yikes!  No, lightning isn't worth messing with.  Glad you were okay.

I've been having an on-going debate with myself whether I am going to get on my bike tonight.  It looks like it stopped raining, but it's not great weather for it.  Supposed to be nice this weekend, finally!

I broke down today and ran this morning in the drizzle a little over 2.6 miles before heading to work. I just did not want to go run on the treadmill today at the gym...love running outdoors much better!

It's supposed to clear up around 5 or 6.  I am still banking on that   It might just work out.

HTFU and get out there!

Just layer up and you'll be fine.  And don't forget to dry off your chain and throw some lube on there when you get done.

Maybe I'm a weirdo, but I kind of like riding in this weather.  I've ridden into work every day this week.

Ok - I think I know what the "TFU" stands for, but what's the "H"?

this weather hasn't done anything for my training but it sure is helping the sod I laid on Sat, couldn't ask for a better week in that regards.  And then the sun will come back out for opening fishing!

Woke up this morning stepped into the kitchen and was blinded by this huge bright thing just above the tree line.  Any ideas what that is?  It's really bright, in the east, kind of yellow.  Any help would be appreciated.

Here in Minnesota it’s a design day.  That means that today it is hotter than what the air condition is designed for and should not keep up.  What is a design day?  In Minneapolis/St. Paul, that is a day where the dry bulb temperature is 88 degrees and the wet bulb temperature is 71 degrees.  That calculates out to a certain amount of energy (specific enthalpy) of ~34.7 BTU / lbm of air.  So although today it is only 85 degrees out, the wet bulb is almost 75.5 degrees and that calculates out to a higher specific enthalpy.  Right now the meteorologists are predicting a high of 92, if that happens then today the energy in the air will be about 17% over design.  How cool!

I don't really understand what you wrote after the second sentance... but assuming it relates to the second sentence, I get the gist.  I think this is a day when I'll be considering sleeping in the basement... Thank goodness for basements!
