Spokes - 2009-05-12 10:16 AM I just love how some 'old time' BTers beat on me every chance they get. Hell with it. Next time someone asks a vanity question, I'm going to keep my fingers shut. (see the tanline question).

We live in such an incredibly insecure society. As long as you practice good hygiene, brush your teeth, take care of yourself and don't let yourself blow up to 400#, who cares about what you look like or what flaws (physical) you may have as a person?

Wait, I don't see where anyone was really "beating on you". Sorry, dude. And if I EVER get married, I'd want smooth tan lines too. Even though I normally like rocking 6 different tan lines cuz it makes me look bad-a$$. Just not for my wedding

I care.  I want to look the best I possibly can at all times.  And I do that for myself.

Yanti... I'm so sad that you are leaving... one more obstacle for us to overcome... *sigh* oh my...

{{{MELON PRESS}}}

I'm just tired. I feel really beat down. Losing the jobs and the boy cleared the way, but still painful. I have to believe that as hard as things will be in Indonesia, good things await too. They must. 'Cause I'm already kind of past a breaking point.

Spokes - 2009-05-12 10:27 AM I wasn't really talking about the 'other' thread as much as it just slays me - especially after seeing the Trek movie last night - overhearing other people complain about the most petty stuff. 95% of the people I see walking around don't *have* problems, particularly in the burbs around here. Go downtown - or into Midtown - and you see street people, bums, folks with obvious psychological problems or handicaps, and yet most of them are nice people simply trying to struggle through every day (aside from the obvious panhandlers who *could* work but choose not to do so. So I choose not to give them $$$ when they ask for it).

Its like there's this whole generation of individuals - although it isn't a single generation, just affluent people in general - that walks around with a plastic collar - you know, like the ones they put on animals to keep them from scratching their heads/eyes/ears etc - restricting their entire world to me me me me.

i still agree with you spokes-y.

Obviously those issues/problems aren't small issues to them.  It's great that you don't worry about it, but other people are going to...everyone is going to worry about something different.

I'm gonna agree with Dan here (yes, Hell is freezing over as we speak). I care about how I present myself. And it has nothing to do with my being affluent (cuz I'm not) or it being all about "me, me, me" (cuz it's not). You can do stuff for yourself without being selfish, if that makes any sense.

Whoa, a tarantula!  Everytime I take a shower after Mrs Chad, and there's a huge hairball in the drain, I run screaming out of the bathroom that there's a tarantula in there.  I figure if I keep doing it enough, she'll eventually think it's funny.

Excellent. She's a pettin' 'rantula, too. Nearly as furry and cuddly as the dog, just less slobbery.
