I just started again after finishing round 1 6 months ago. I am getting back in tri shape after a 10 year hiatus. This is going to be interesting. Hey PATiger, If it is in PDF format or something I would love to see it. I have one (I think), but would love to see what you have. Its a word file, but it is too big to attach. What is your email? I think I got it and didn't look yet. Thanks Patiger |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I just started the full P90X plan (including nutrition) on Saturday! I am so excited for the transformation to begin. I bought P90X over a year ago, did one video and didn't touch it again. In the beginning of March I started doing 3 of the lifting videos per week to add strength training to my workout plan. Last week I thought, "what the heck, let's stop fooling around and just do the program." Today is Day 4 (Yoga), and I'm feeling good and strong. It amazes me that I am down 3 lbs from Saturday already. I had completely plateued with my weightloss, but P90X has broken through that barrier. I see good things ahead. Thanks everyone for sharing their stories and struggle with the tough workouts. Keep at it, and remember, "do you best and forget the rest!" |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Great job Altitude glad to hear it is going well for you. I have yet to hear someone actually do P90X and say "Didn't work for me at all". |

Regular ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Thanks Saling! Also, you were right, Plyo is some serious cardio!! Did that one for the first time Sunday, and made it through the whole thing. A little modified at the end, but I was proud to get through it. I can't believe that I was concerned about losing cardio fitness - I bet that my lung capacity will actually increase with the program. So, are you a P90X graduate? |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Yes ma'am and I have some pics in my log. I really, really need to get back to it, but I REALLY want to do INSANITY. Justifying that expense right now is kind of hard though. I have all kinds of programs to work on already and another one would just bog down the library. However, I love bodyweight training...sigh. |

Member![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Wow, great thread. I haven't been on BT for a while now, but this site was instrumental in getting me off the couch several years ago. I completed several sprints and olys and then moved over to xterras, to adventure racing and now concentrating on trail running mixed in with a few adventure races. I have a 50k this saturday and plan on starting p90x the following monday. I will be focusing mainly on the p90x for the next 3 months except I will probably skip kenpo on saturday and do a long trail run instead. I really need to stay focused on the diet as that has been my achilles heal for quite a while now, I know I have limited my potential with my diet and I need to change that this time around. It is good to be back on this site, and I look forward to starting p90x!! (doing the cheesey x sign with my arms). |

It seems to me that money spent on your health and fitness is money well spent. Maybe you can save up a month or two and then purchase? Or find someone who will let you borrow the DVDs. You could always start with P90X again for now. I'd be happy to be an accountability partner, and one that you can share your pain with. I'm curious about INSANITY - maybe I'll try that after this round of P90X. I'd love look great in a bikini when I go home to Michigan this summer.

Expert ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I started P90X (Lean version) on Sunday, as a way to strengthen everything, especially core, to power my triathlons. From what I have seen, this is a GREAT program. I just remind myself to "start where I am", and not be concerned about how wonderfully well the people on the DVDs do everything. Round 1 will be Lean, which takes me to two weeks before my first HIM. After that, I will go to Round 2, which will be full-blown P90X. Edited by Yoganerd 2010-04-21 1:40 PM |

Member![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() MY question is is were you able to do the nutrition as well as the workouts and still train properly for tris? I feel it would be exausting to try to do all of it combined with a calorie cut and defecit like P90X requires. And did you do this during the off season or was it done during season wit being careful of race weeks. any input would be appreciated. Thanks! |
![]() ![]() |
Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Best to try the full P90X during the off season. The eating plan should not be a deficit per se depending on your goals. There are parts of P90X that I feel would be beneficial no matter what....AB Ripper X, Yoga, etc. |

Pro ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Resurrecting this thread, because I just did Day 1 P90X Lean and I'm very pleased with myself. I'd fallen off the workout wagon when I got married a little over a month and a half ago, and now that the house is in some semblence of order, I'm going to kick it into high gear. I'm doing lean because my main goal is weight loss. I've been hovering in the 240's-250's for 2 years now, and that's just ridiculous. I also attend Weight Watchers (my goal weight there is 220). Personal goal weight it 199.9 (I want to see a 1!! ) and I'm 6'1". I've taken the past couple years off of tris for various reasons, but would like to get back into them next year (2011 season.) I'm pushing play...are you? |

My understanding was there was more cardio, not fewer workouts. More cardio generally (I say generally because we've all see what happens to your weight at the height of tri season) equates to more weight loss. That's just my main focus this time around. |

Maggy, You are right - the big difference is the inclusion of CoreSyn much more often in the schedule, which has a bit of a higher cardio factor than the weight workout that it's swapped in for. Either program will lead to weight loss IF you are also conscious about your nutrition as well. I am actually a huge CoreSyn fan and think it's particularly good for endurance athletes as it focuses on "functional fitness" type exercises that really strengthen your entire core. It's one of my all time favorite workouts! Keep pushing play!!!! And USE THOSE LOG SHEETS as Tony keeps harping on you to do. That is really where the magic happens - you push hard every day, and you WILL get stronger. |

You can see a lot of Success Stories on the Team Beachbody website. You can sign up as a free member (click on my link in my sig line to sign up if you are interested) and get access to a LOT of resources there, including tons of success stories submitted by members. Some people have truly changed their lives using P90X (or other BB programs). Good stuff for sure! |

New user ![]() ![]() | ![]() P90Xer here, too. I started off doing the whole program then cut out everything but the Mon-Wed-Fri chest/back/legs/arms workouts (and no ab ripper) as I progressed in my running conditioning. Now that I am recovering much more rapidly from my runs I am slowly adding in the plyo, yoga and ab ripper workouts, doing more of each DVD as my workout tolerance for them improves. Since starting my Training Log here I am adding in templates for the strength workouts as I go. With my work and school schedule, I am probably going to wind up doing Plyo on Wed mornings, and Yoga Friday mornings. |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() I thing it is a great program for modifying to fit what you need or have time for and then work into more. |
