Here is the story behind my Chiro:

His mother and my m-i-l worked together back in the day

He grew up with my wife and her sisters

His kids play football with my son and my daughter knows his oldest boy as well.

Pretty cool huh.  So to the real cool stuff.

I just met him this year at football and we talked bikes and decided to go for a ride.

I am not being prideful but I am pretty strong on the bike and usually end up waiting for my buddies or push to keep up with local riders in the group rides I do periodically.

So we meet at the local park and start riding and this guy is hammering.  I am thinking to myself this is not good (I was in a Z1/Z2 training month and not ready to push it - thinking it would be leisurely!).  We do about 40 miles and he kicks my a## all over the place.  I finally pull in behind him for the final portion home for a draft and it was heavenly.

So I ask him about his younger years - Comes to be that he was about 22 seconds away from qualifying for the US Olympic Marathon Team - Holy Carp you could have told me this before we agreed to ride!

Then I am at his office and he was a NAIA All American in Cross Country.

Guess we shall never run together and unless he wants to slow down - no more riding either

So all that to say I accept all his diagnosis because he lives the life.

That is all

Very cool story!  It's great that you have a chiro you can trust

I woke up with some knee pain this morning.  Not really sure what that is all about.  I might skip the run tonight and just swim.  We shall see how the day unfolds.

I have some Brooks and Saucony.  Asics are up next (but I was sponsored in part by Brooks this year so I ran in those mainly)

Maybe I will buy some new Asics for my return to running in 4-6 weeks.  Sounds like good motivation right!

hummmm I use brooks maybe they want to sponsor me....oh I suppose one must be fast to be sponsored! Carry on as I do not qualify!

My wife would try and accuse me of the same but I am always telling her to leave it for later.  I don't care as long as I have lunch and am capable of making such lunch and doing laundry if necessary.

I would rather hang out and relax.  Our house was one big stress factor with all the junk going on - making 2 different soups, 2 different dinners (tacos and a chicken plate), and homework - too much for me.

It is only a piece of wood - that is what I tell my wife.  As long as it is not burning or leaking I am quite comfortable with some messes

Hummmm Maybe I need to "hear" this more...I am the one always stressing about my house, but then again I am the one running around like a chicken with it's head cut off trying to find something that was not put away!!!

That sounds absolutely delicious.  If you find me at your doorstep soon don't be alarmed

Come on over anytime.  Always have them in the freezer!

sounds like you will be all primed and ready for that morning run with that YUMMY dinner! artichoke ravioli sounds scrumptious! your recipe or is it something you buy pre-made? cuz I would love the recipe if its yours!!!

have a great run, Kim!

Recipe is very simple.  Drive to Trader Joe's and cruise thru the refrigerator section.  I also like their portobello mushroom ravioli.  Keep them in the freezer for a quick dinner.  They cook in 5 mins and you just toss with some good olive oil and a little parm cheese.  yum.

Not at all fast here Kim.  It is their "grassroots" sponsorship program.  Look it up online and apply.  They want to use local people who can show others the benefits of Brooks.  Pretty good discount plus I got a free singlet and race shorts (that I have never worn )

BTW - never sell yourself short for sponsors.  I apply for all that I can find and if get accepted that is cool, if not I will live.

Funny this gets brought up.  I just start applying for sponsors last night.  Brooks was one of them.

aspeelma - 2009-10-21 6:19 AM GOOD MORNING GHOULIES!!!!!!

I hope everyone had a great evening!

I've got a long boring day of work ahead, then... off to the pool to swim, lift and run 2.5 miles of intervals on the treadmill. I'm going to get my body fat checked at the Y this evening, too. I've lost a lot of weight and I'm curious as to what it is.

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!!

KEEP ON RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Contrats on the weight loss!!!!

honestly... I was like your husband and would not step outside til the dishes were cleaned the home was spotless, then I could do my fun things like shop, bike, hike....but once I became a cancer patient...my outlook changed! I wanted to spend every waking hour with my family and loved ones! TO HECK WITH THE HOUSE! it could have fallen down around me!!! and this truly was for a good 5 years...then I realized ok...Im here for a while and now I have found a happy medium. I recently went thru the SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE SYNDROME...and I basically donated and sold most all my nic nacs and clutter...and have decluttered my home I now have just what I need...my dog, BIKES, flat screen tv, couch, tables bar, and because its only my husband and I the house stays pretty clean now! If you dont have the clutter...you dont have to clean it! and this has worked well for me! as for your husband...whats his phone number...I will have a little life is short chat with him!

I'll have to check that out...I did follow flylady for a long time and wouldn't ya know it the house started running itself! But then I am still not sure what happened but I am having a hard time getting back at it. I really need to declutter but with 4 children and a hubby and my split shifts...excuses excuses excuses and the list can go on and on!
