Hey Ghoulies. I hope you East Coasters are enjoying your dinner about now. I had some unexpected free time this afternoon so I got in a nice little bonus ride to the LBS and back (with a few bonus miles added on the way home just for fun).

So with all this talk of swapping miles in the different disciplines, I was thinking it might be fun to see how many 140.6's we can complete cumulatively as well as individually. In other words, keep our own personal scores, but also pool our miles and see how many IM's we can complete in a month. Make sense? Sorry, I know it's random but I'm a dataholic

iowagander - 2010-04-01 12:02 PM Good afternoon Ghoulies. My absence from the Village was much shorter than planned. Turns out DW is not feeling well and needed to reschedule her appointment. I also forgot my runnin gshoes at work so I think I will go for a bike ride instead. I think a trip to the LBS and back is in order after I feed the short people.

As for the two questions (which are great btw)...

I currently serve as a Lieutenant, Junior Grade in the U.S. Navy, recruiting the next generation of officers into the Naval Service.

What I WANT to do is own my own business someday. My wife wants to run her own craft/design/paper shop which I've offered to help with. What THIS GUY wants is to be able to do something I love doing, whether it's an LBS, RDing, coaching, playing in a band, and earn enough money to be debt free and able to travel to places I love. It's a very long term idea, but one day it'll happen.

That sounds like a great goal, Tom!

What is it that you do?

What is it that you would rather do?

I am a licensed massage therapist.  Self-employed, working out of an office at the Y.  22 years now; it's pretty good.

I would really like to someday have a business that will let me be more mobile.  We would really like to move to Colorado and also travel more.

That should be an interesting total.  If I have a month like last month I should be good for about 10 swims, 4 bikes, and 4 runs worth.

Good questions, Ann.

I'm a chemist at a manufacturing company.  I get to play with chemicals and sniff solvents all day so I can't complain.

I'd rather be writing.  I have a novel that I wrote a few years back that is still in way rough draft form.  I really need to go back and polish it up, but I haven't made the time since getting into this triathlon thing

Even if you can't run you can still come and cheer and drink.

I'm marking my calendar now.  My sister is moving to D.C. this summer so my normal winter excursion to California won't be happening.  And by January I NEED to get out of Iowa.

Plus its just 5 days before my birthday.  Just one more thing to celebrate

For Ann's question...

I'm a med student and researcher...I learn and do rat surgery...

I can't honestly say I would like to be something other than what I am...I got to be what I wanted to be/or want to be...(this may be perceived as naivity...but tis true)...maybe I would like to be something really badass...like a fighter pilot...

For the other question...which might have been Ann's too...haha cant remember after reading 15 pgs...

I do chill things for fun...like movies and read...sometimes I go out and dance...I like to look at guys too...that is fun...especially hot, triathlete residents who are 25...sigh*

Good morning Ghoulies!!!

It is going to be 80 degrees here today!!! And I am home because I am <cough cough> under the weather get it!

Having breakfast soon than riding 16ish miles to the LBS. (You're supposed to sweat out spring fever, right?) I changed seats on my bike last night and I want them to take a look. I also added one of the behind the seat water bottle holders and the seat bag I had doesn't fit with it. I want to see if I can find something else. Then I'm thinking of taking a scenic ride home.

I will check back in this afternoon between outdoor activities.

I will double the running....will try on the swim (although I usually do not keep track of distance because I loose track!) and for the bike....I also will do, but I use a spin bike 2x a week and it doesn't track distance. but I have already gotten 30 mi on my RD bike! and 2.5 miles for the run. Have a lovely 9 miles on tap for today! It is supposed to be gorgeous again today! I am thinking I will let the kids ride their bikes and I will run...
going to catch up on all that I missed!
