Kido - 2011-01-25 9:32 AM State the obvious #1.

People are stupid...

State the obvious #2

After all these years, beaurocracy STILL surprises me...

for your second statement refer to the first.

it could also be lazy...

Here is the latest:

A:  We called out a specific item to be installed (500 gallon grease interceptor, if you must know).  By Jenson Precast... It is an "off the shelf item" with all the specifications, size dimensions, etc.

B:  The Development office says we need to show a more "general" detail/drawing with specifications to be determined by the BUILDING dept.  They can't approve specific products.  Ok, fine.  Pass the buck #1.

C:  Call the building dept.  They say the specifications/sizing is per the PLUMBING CODE, refer to that.  Ok, fine.  Pass the buck #2.

D:  Look up the plumbing code.  It does not give the specifics.  Just the size (500 gallons).  And the selection of the demensions is up to the engineer.  Pass the buck #3.

E:  I am the professional engineer.  So, I selected the Jenson 500 gallon.

From what I am hearing from my female friends it's getting more common to receive texts of guys junk. I think people have lost the art of courting.

Why my sweet little Cordlet ... what a gentlemanly observation!! Makes me all awwwww ...

Some dbag sent me a pic of his junk today. SRSLY???

this really happens?  ew.

frequently. more ons.

I actually wound up bursting in tears when Cord said 'the art of courting' ... YEAH CORDLET YOU MADE ME CRY ...

Absolutely no doubt it's fading, and not in a 'get off my lawn' kind of way ... other than the fact that this last piglet was a wonderful one and we had a great connection and a great time, I realized I also really fell for him because he is one of the most well-mannered gentlemen I've ever met -- without being cloying or overbearing. Just old school courtliness from the inside out ... really, really thoughtful.

but I have unlimited email and text with my plan...

ok.. want me to send you a text?

my favorite is the pre-planning meeting… you know the one, the meeting to plan the planning meeting. Its like being sucked into an endless vortex of meetings because no one can make a decision and the ones who can don't have final say.

Does anyone else in here really like dilbert besides me?

I seem to have had my widdle wabbit feelings hurt an awful lot today.

Could be I'm just oversensitive because I fellz for a fella a lot harder than I'd like to admit.

Could be there really are just a lotta dbags in this world.

Unfortunately I'm close to some of them and expected better.

Meh...  the novelty is over.

I chose not to live with anger and fear whenever possible... crazy (to me) that some chose to.

But my oatmeal WAS tastey!  Not as tastey as my $70 steak will be tonight though!  BOOYAH!!!!!

rant

So I'm putting on a tri club event, and some dbag (okay, I know said dbag) posted on the wall batching about how it was such short notice and we need better planning and such.

Okay then.

YOU start the tri club.

YOU run the tri club.

YOU buy the domain and create and put up the website.

You roust the piglets.

YOU get one of Australia's top sports scientists / Team Australia consultants and an Ironman champ, and YOU get Asia's top triathlon coach to come to Bali on their own dime and give free workshops on YOUR schedule at a free venue with plenty of notice. No no no ... go right ahead. Be my guest.

Hello, TAN.

I just spent an hour or so 40 ft off the ground in 20mph winds to take down a broken piece of equipment from a poorly designed tower because a co-worker pawned this off on me after she messed it all up in the first place.

Anyone need an engineer at their company?

I hate that...

Personally, I tend to wear my emotions on my sleeve and fall into "trust" pretty easy.  Not sure if that's the best thing to do with everyone.  Leads to more opportunity for hurt.

BUT, I find living that way a bit easier, than to be guarded.

But yes, a lot of Dbags in the world.

Yes! We are always hiring engineers (aerospace... design, stress, etc - they are hard to find/keep).
But you have to live in Kansas, Oklahoma, or po-dunk North Carolina.

Hi TAN!

Finally have a moment to take a breath - and then I get more emails.  Booo.

And the airline that I'm dealing with should really take lessons in customer relations.  Feeling kinda stabby.

On a good note though, both the coffee machine and the womens washroom are fixed
