tricupcake - 2013-01-29 11:36 AM Gah!  Had a horrible weekend.  I don't even want to confess how much or what I ate.  All I know is that by Monday morning, I felt awful.  By the end of the weekend, I was up a few pounds.  Back on track yesterday and today.  Although, I just had a bite-sized Snickers.  On the bright side, my training is going well.  50/50...I'll take it for now.

Just get back on track, don't beat yourself up over it

Agreed the past is the past and can't be changed.  The future is an unknown, but it is totally affected by what  you do in the precense.  You want to change your future, then change your present.

Stay focused and chive on...hahaha

Thanks dsand. My family gets around 70 percent of our meat from wild game, mostly Whitetail deer and Crappie. However tonight I put two chickens on the smoker and had brown rice and turnip greens for the sides. We'll eat on that for a day or two.

Hanging in on my no food/juicing diet. Eating more veggies as I'm starting to feel hungry. First I thought the green drinks tasted so good - was expecting the worst - now I'm getting sick of them, 4 a day.
I'm getting between 1100-1200 cals/day. Today I hit 1300 and felt nervous, but have to keep the calories in perspective. Not losing weight which is what people say, that I'm slowing down my metabolism, but I have to believe that if I can hang in there the weight has to come off right? People on starvation diets do eventually starve (which is horrible, I don't mean to make light).
I'm not getting food phobic - I know we live in a time and place with abundant, safe food. I'm hoping that I will learn to control my food and not let it control me.

Got to the gym today and did some interval training on a bike for 30 mins. Felt good.

When I worked out with weights Id eat protein before the workout and 4:1 carbs:protein after.
I've read about eating for endurance work, but on regular training days what's the thought about pre/post nutrition?

today was my 30th day in a row of running, feeling better and better! My weakness with my dieting is the night time cravings for sweets. What do you ladies and gents do for this?

Skip If I were completely honest I'd have to say that I go ahead and eat sweets. I'm sure that is not the answer you're looking for. Have something small and natural. Grapes one at a time, an orange, an apple, a little chocolate milk, go to bed early. Just don't blow the whole day. When you feel like you're starving and start craving things, that is when you know the diet is working. I had a thought today as I ran. I thought, this is not when I am loosing weight, tonight when I'm wanting to eat some that I know I don't need and I resist. That is when I'll be gaining ground on my goals.

AbbieR - 2013-01-29 1:41 PM Don, I just made a Paleo meatloaf, too funny!  I used ground turkey and pork.  Sometimes I substitute buffalo meat instead, yum!

Buffalo is so awesome!!  My wife did gyro loaf with buffalo and lamb once... OFF.  THE.  CHARTS!!

This exactly.  Post dinner snacking used to wreck my attempts to lose weight, and to this day still tries.  Its not a popular concept I'll admit but I would advise you acknowledge and embrace the hunger.  Instead of letting it control you use those opportunities to master your own life.

Look it in the face, breathe in and then do your best to day I AM BETTER THAN THIS CRAVING. When it works, it is powerful. It also works for when you feel like not doing a workout, or quitting early on one too.

My husband always craves sweets at night. He cuts up banana's and puts a few walnuts and honey on it.

Nice job on the 30 days in a row!!!!

Bad time for me to respond on the sweets - Girl Scout cookie season hit and my daughter brought home 28-30 cases - GOD please give me strength!!!

Otherwise, and this might not fit with a lot of people are doing, I might make a Muscle Milk shake.

Okay, now that my husband is having that come to a deity meeting with our primary care about his likely diabetic state.....HE is finally paying attention to his diet and logging food on Myfitnesspal.com.  So I am logging again because my lack of logging is having me think I ate fewer calories or burned more calories than I really do......Maybe I can get rid of this weight....

Brushing is not that new, but not many things will taste good on top of a minty fresh mouth

Great news.  Though I didn't have a health scare, more like a gut punch to my vanity that got me moving, I also had health issues to consider.  My families heart history isn't the best so between wanting to look better in pictures and watch all my kids grow up, I decided to make a whole hog lifestyle change, and it has made a world of difference.  I hope and pray to said diety that the same results for your husband.

Also going to start a challenge for myself starting tomorrow.  For the month of February I will be adding descending burpee sets on a daily basis in addition to any and all training I will be doing.

Will take a February 1 photo and a March 1 photo and see if a simple addition like that, in conjunction with a good diet, and and ever increasing amounts of cardio can make a difference on the scale and in the mirror.

Burpee challenge begins tomorrow.

DAY 31 Unsweetened.....Have lost....2 pounds since going sugar/sweetener free.  Appetite is changing so hopefully this means body will start responding soon and has started burning more fat for fuel!

Ever hop on the scale, then wind up going to bathroom and then hop back on it again just to see if the number has gone down?  Yea, me neither

Tonight I have a date and we are meeting for oysters and champagne.  Not sure how the scale is going to react to champagne.

Champagne is actually one of the lesser evils in the alcohol world. In moderation, it should be no problem.
