Cheri I have one for you too....I am about finished with yours! will mail it next week! how the legs today? Been riding your bike? I havent...want to go on a ride tomorrow? I am hoping to get in a good 30+miles....whatcha say? Nicole I see you are running a challenge this next month! I joined two others but may be able to squeak out yours too! just dont want to spread myself out too thin and become overwhelmed...just need the motivation...seem to have lost some of it lately! looks like you have a good group of people signing up...and still have a week or more to go! Dan - saw a story about how the wind has been crazy in Japan lately!? was on the weather channel...thought of you and your new bike...hoping you are enjoying it! we still want to see pictures of it...with you on it! and talk about someone who never stops! that would be you! you are a workout animal! you must be showing such great returns in terms of muscle mass and loss of weight! I want to hear more about this chi training, too! I looked it up, but got distracted...funny how that can happen when on the web! Yvonne - hope your meeting with the coach goes well this afternoon....know you will have all the right questions for him! hoping things work out for you...and you find yourself a new coach/friend/trainer! I cant wait to hear all about it Lisa - I want to hear more about that tri in Sugar Land. Where do you swim? I cant think of any open water areas....is it a pool swim? If you get a chance go to the international festival that is going on this week...I AM SOOOO MAD That I missed it this year! I usually go...and have a blast! great food/art/and booths! takes up mosst of downtown area...plus if you ever get a chance to go to the heights and eat at Cedar Creek Restaraunt...dont pass it up! I went there twice while home this past week...once with my girlfriends at night..was a blast...and during the day with my family when we made a trip downtown....you will love this place GUARANTEED! has the cutest atmosphere with great beer and all the food we had was scrumptious! Amy M....you are about to get on a big Cruise ship and I am JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS! not sure where you are going...but wherever it is...have a blast! Take lots of pictures! we want to hear all about it when you get back. Scot...we miss you and hope that you are finding your way back to us! I know family life gets hectic and that sometimes it is hard to find time for other activities..but remember to take time for Scot...noone else will! come back and hang with us. Trish...how is the son? did the surgery go well? I have you and him in my thoughts and hoping that things went as planned and that he will be back running and jumping about again soon! as will you! I am looking at doing a run in your area in July (cant remember the name of the tri)...maybe we can hook up for it! Andria...how you feeling lately? I hope that your health is better! I know you are training cuz you train no matter how terrible you feel! I am amazed at how you can do that! there are days that I feel fabulous and can not force my way out the door...and to think of you feeling bad with your lupus and you still continue with your routine and your training! YOU ARE AMAZING! I hope you know what a big inspiration you are to me!!? Karen...how did your moms surgery go? we are pacing the halls waiting on you to stop pacing the halls and let us know how it went! I am sending lots of prayers for a quick and successful surgery as well as a speedy recovery! please keep us posted. Isabelle...how's my chippit and how them calfs doing? have you ever had orthotics? my sister had lots of leg calf pain and got orthotics and now she has no pain at all! do they have orthotics for heavy feeling legs? I need them if they do! My legs feel like ten ton weights the past few runs! but it could be that was all I was able to do the past few weeks while away from my bike and my pool! I see your shins didnt hurt last run...I say keep doing the 3:1...and work your way to 5:1 and you will see more improvement in your time and plus you will build up those legs slowly but surely! hey did you see me at the pool? I went today, too! Helen...you are doing fabulous! I was just on your site and see that you just completed your second outdoor bike ride and you rode over 42 miles! that is FABULOUS! and you were able to keep a good speed for that distance! GREAT JOB GIRL!!! kiu! then you swam over 2000 meters...ran almost 10 miles....you are sooo gonna do great in your upcoming HIM! KEEP IT UP HELEN! I am soo happy you and the others joined our team...thanks for all the inspires you sent while I was away! I soo appreciate your kind words and thoughts and they will not be forgotten!! Susie...hoping you are ok...I know that we usually hear from you daily and since I have been back I have not heard a word from you!? hoping that work, life and your new roomy are treating you well! any more on your divorce? I hope that your butth*le X is being civil and that you will be able to get this divorce behind you so that you can start the beginning of your NEW LIFE! Hope you are ok...think about you often! Julie...hoping Lexi is feeling better...did you ever get her diagnosed and treated? seems like you were getting the run around from her doctor! did he ever call you back? my goodness...poor baby has been sick off and on for the past few months! I would be concerned with your home environment if they dont diagnose soon! I lived in a home for almost 8 years with bad mold issues and I was wheezing all the time when I woke up...my doctor even gave me a huffer for asthma...that is when i had the home tested! was full of mold spores! we moved the next month and after almost a year of poor health I regained my health and honestly never have felt better! you mentioned mold and that immediately put up a scare in me! be careful... Lyssa...where oh where did my Lyssa go! I would not have started this mentor group if it was not for you!?! and then you up and leave me!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! you must come back...I dont care if it is just to chat about home schooling, all the rain or snow you are getting...the psycho neighbor who just moved in, your midgets who are driving you nuts... the husband who follows you in the car while you run, one of your fabulous cookie recipes, or to push me in the pool! THATS RIGHT>>>YOU CAN SHOVE ME IN! But dont leave me standing on the side of the pool looking for you!!! and after all who is going to send me pictures of hotties at the pool??? who? who? dont make me call your house again! YOU KNOW I WILL!!! Amy SD, Jennifer, Monica...we miss you and hope you find your way back to us! I got emails from a few of you mentioning that you would be back..and I am not going to pressure you, but know we are here for you if and when you do return! I for one do not judge you on if you are training or not...just want to help motivate you to be as successful as you plan! so, realize we wont be judgemental...we just want our sista's back! but only when you are ready! there is one more monthly winner that I am forgetting....please remind me who tied with Cheri in March!?! having a senior moment! they seem to come more and more often! TRAIN WELL TEAM! MOVE FORWARD! |

Veteran 243 | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) Thanks, everyone, for the good thoughts. The surgery went well, the son is home and reasonably comfortable. He's bored and grumpy, but I guess I can live with that. Unfortunately, he has to stay home for at least another week, maybe 2! They won't let him get up for more than a few minutes until the swelling starts to go down - which is definitely not now! The stitches come out in 2 weeks and he'll get a wrist brace. Right now, he's up to his shoulder in splints and ace bandages. BTW, the donuts never got eaten! They came home from the hospital today and are still sitting on the counter, but I can't imagine they'll be consumed (but, you never know, he's 14 after all!). I'm exhausted and hope to get back something resembling normal soon. But, who knows? I have to go to a PTA meeting, so I'll see you all tomorrow! Trish |

I am looking at doing a run in your area in July (cant remember the name of the tri)...maybe we can hook up for it! Is it Eppie's Great Race? That's the only thing I can think of around here in July. I did it with my sisters 2-3 years ago. It's a really fun race, but huge! It's almost totally stress-free (except the crowding) and non-competitive, and there's almost a fair atmosphere with lots of booths and vendors and stuff going on. Very fun and a great location, although parking is problematic. You definitely want to have some way to easily pick you kayak out of a crowd of similar looking objects! Finding my sister's kayak took longer than the race, almost! Unfortunately, my son is performing that day at band camp, so I'll be in Stockton! But I could meet up with you for Friday night, pre-race pasta if you're coming up early? Welcome home! Trish |

And I'm even off from work today -- woo hoo! Julie, I'm heading out for a bike ride shortly -- you are welcome to join me. The fog is lifting and it should be a beautiful ride. Good luck on your race tomorrow. Your dh was right to pressure you into this (I think). After I take time off, I have a difficult time forcing myself back into the racing scene. Julie - The Sugar Land tri is a sprint - 300m pool swim, 10m bike, 5k run. The swim is in the 50m pool at the First Colony Aquatic Center. It's 54% full right now, expected to fill the first part of June. This weekend they will have the 500m open water swim course set up for the CB&I tri in the Woodlands. Anyone go practice the course for $5, so may try to do that, if I can fit it in my schedule. We've got lots of baseball this weekend, at least 3 games in the next 3 days, and we played a 4th game last night (so International Festival is definitely out for me, although it's right across from where I work); a late dinner with friends tonight after our game; and a party tomorrow in Pearland after that game. I'll for sure have to try out the Cedar Creek Restaraunt! Hope everyone has a great weekend!! |

The part I disliked the most was the swim training. But I think I know why -- I love being outside, and I had to train all winter in an enclosed pool. Maybe now that they are taking the bubble off and I'll get to swim outside, maybe I'll like it better? I have a friend who decided she was never going to love running, but maybe she could just make peace with it. |

I'm not sure how I got here, but I love where I am! Now, I only hope I can come to love running, too. Swimming is definitely the most relaxing of the three events for me. I don't love running but I don't HATE it anymore like I used to. My mantra when I used to run would be "Why am I doing this? How could anyone possibly enjoy this?". Swimming used to be the hardest of the three for me. In Fall of 2007 I had knee issues that limited my biking and running for 6 or 8 weeks so I focused on swimming. After I was again able to run I found that my swimming had vastly improved and my running was in the toilet. It's never recovered to where it was but my swimming continues to improve. I've never hated running, but it's now the hardest of the three. |
