Expert 1117 Shalimar, FL | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) lufferly - 2009-04-28 7:00 PM We've had absolutely terrible weather over the last 24 hours. I live about 25 miles north of Houston and we've had about 10 inches of rain. My sister lives on the west side of Houston and had people canoeing down her street this morning. A lot of schools cancelled, but not our district. My friend from work lives about 7 miles further north of me and it took her 5 HOURS to get into work this AM as her bus got stuck on one of the HOV lanes which was flooded going into town. It took me about 1 1/2 hours. It's mostly sunny right now and very muggy, but still lots of street flooding. They've been talking so much on the news about the weather today that I haven't even heard what it's supposed to be like the next couple of days. Hard to get very motivated in this kind of weather, so opted to cook a good dinner. Oh Lisa, I feel for you! I've seen the pictures on the news, and it's incredible. We've been through that much rain before, and there is nowhere for the water to go! I hope it gets better soon. |

I'm in two May challenges, the swimming challenge and my multisport challenge. It's bit of work setting up the teams, threads, and spreadsheets but I hope it will be fun. |

Did some hollering at dd for "fake crying" in the classroom again (big no no)........ my throat is actually hurting. Keep in mind this goes on in Soccer and anyplace else she is wanting attention/pity and the ignore her thing only amps her up. I even said the "do you want me to give you something to cry about for real ?" to which she looks at me like "are you nuts and shakes her head no". Last night she would not answer me so I said "Open your mouth and answer me" being 4 1/2 she literally opened her mouth wide and tried to answer me ! Sounded like she was in a dentist chair !LOL Ok even I caved on that one ! Soooo today I took the computer away, and her tv. I have had it !!! She likes playhouse disney games and Noggin. At least tonight I go to rubber ducky swim club while DH has to entertain her ! (insert evil laugh here) |

Hopefully we're all out training instead of typing. I did a funny thing this morning. First, I put on a wetsuit that was too big for me because it's the only one I have right now, and I really wanted to get the feel for swimming in a wetsuit. So I borrowed my dh's shorty and jumped in my little backyard swimming pool. Then I hooked up my brand new swim tether to the pool ladder, and proceeded to be bored to tears for the next 30 minutes! I do believe that swimming on a leash is more boring than running on a treadmill or riding a stationary bike, because at least with those other two you can listen to your iPod. Well, at least I got some swimming in! |

I'm around and about! We had a follow-up appoinment for my son's arm this morning. He's cast- and stitch-free. Just a wrist brace and sling. But, he's going to miss his class field-trip and can't play football until August! I'm thinking he'll be out there sooner, but we'll see. The dr. is really conservative - he didn't even want Nick back for stitch removal for another week, but Nick convinced him that some stitches wouldn't keep him in bed, so they might as well come out. I'm going running a little later - my allergies are killing me though, so it will probably be a wheeze fest! Oh - I'm planning to come by the multisport challenge thread, too, Nicole! See you later, Trish |

Hopefully I'll be able to keep it together in my cold water tri swim next weekend and cut several minutes off of last year's time. If the weather cooperates I'll get in an OWS practice on Sunday. Anyone know a good "rain, rain go away" dance or incantation? |

Extreme Veteran 624 Spring TX | Subject: RE: Girl Passing on Left (FULL) I'm accounted for! Took the day off to try to get my living room redo finished. Think it calls for a trip to Pottery Barn, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Garden Ridge. I got a 30 minute swim and 30 minute bike in at the gym this morning after dropping my son off at the bus stop. Just wasn't up to venturing out in the 82 degree mosquito infested humidity this AM for a run, but looks like the water in the lake has dropped enough to see the sidewalk again. |
